Container Mobile House Export

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

The export market for container mobile houses is growing rapidly, and Chinese companies hold a significant position in global competition.

I. Export Scale and Growth Trends

According to Shenzhen Customs data, in the first four months of 2026, enterprises across the country exported modular buildings worth 1.68 billion yuan through Shenzhen ports, a year-on-year increase of 19.6%, covering more than 150 countries and regions. Data from the General Administration of Customs shows that in the first half of 2026, China's total export value of prefabricated buildings under HS code 9406 reached 2.79 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 45%, with steel-structured modular houses being the main export category.

II. Product Types and Technological Advantages

  1. Modular Buildings: These buildings are disassembled into independent modules, with precise assembly of steel structures, walls, and pipelines completed in factories, followed by transportation to the site for assembly. This approach reduces construction time by more than 60% compared to traditional methods and results in steel wastage of only 3%-5%, far lower than the 8%-12% on traditional construction sites.
  2. Foldable Container Houses: These houses are portable and cost-effective, with a folded volume only 1/4 to 1/5 of their expanded state, significantly reducing transportation costs. For example, the transportation cost for a single foldable container from Suzhou Zhongnan is only 150 yuan, offering a competitive advantage over other brands.
  3. Double-Wing Expandable Containers: These containers are compact during transportation and double in space when deployed. For instance, the 20-foot double-wing expandable containers produced by Yashun Light Steel for a project in Chile have an indoor usable area of approximately 36 square meters when expanded, balancing transportation efficiency with actual usable space.

III. Application Scenarios and Market Demand

  1. Overseas Infrastructure Projects: For example, the MRDC modular hotel project by China Construction Science and Engineering Corporation in Papua New Guinea had an overall delivery period of only 7 months, more than half the time required for traditional construction.
  2. Emergency Response Scenarios: Foldable container houses can be quickly transported to meet the needs of disaster relief shelters and temporary medical stations.
  3. Commercial and Cultural Tourism Scenarios: These houses can be used as exhibition halls, temporary shops, scenic area homestays, etc., supporting flexible combinations of multiple containers to meet different functional requirements.

IV. Corporate Competitiveness and Industry Trends

Leading companies such as CIMC Modular Building and Suzhou Zhongnan Steel Structure have completed more than 200 projects globally, covering over 20 countries and regions, leveraging their advantages in industrialized manufacturing and global logistics. In the future, products with multiple reuse capabilities, cross-border compliance, and low-carbon attributes will become the mainstream procurement direction in the industry.
