Container House with Tires

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

The installation of tires in container houses requires reasonable planning based on tire type, size, and container specifications, while also considering transportation safety and space utilization.

1. Tire Type and Size Adaptation

When installing tires in container houses, it is necessary to clarify the tire type (such as truck and bus tires, engineering machinery tires, motorcycle tires, etc.) and specific size. For example, Double Coin port tires with specifications like 12.00-24 and 18.00-25 are suitable for container front cranes or stackers, while 12R22.5 tubeless tires are mostly used in container trucks. Tire size directly affects loading capacity: The internal dimensions of a 40-foot container are 12 meters in length, 2.35 meters in width, and 2.69 meters in height. If loading 12R22.5 truck and bus tires, each row can accommodate 24 tires (two piles of 12 + 2 at the edges), with a total of 11 rows, amounting to approximately 264 tires. If loading small motorcycle tires, the loading capacity can be significantly increased.

2. Loading Method and Space Optimization

  1. Stacking Method: Tires are usually stacked in a "one row with two piles and inserted at the edges" method. New tires, due to their smooth surfaces, may have 2 fewer tires per row (i.e., 11 per pile) to prevent sliding. Shelves or mobile storage equipment can further improve space utilization. For example, tires can be stored vertically and stacked in unitized equipment, but the total height should be controlled not to exceed the container's height limit.
  2. Tool Assistance: It is recommended to use software like LoadMaster to simulate the loading sequence and generate 3D illustrations to optimize space. For example, a 40HQ container (2.69 meters in height) is suitable for loading bulky goods, and the tire arrangement direction can be adjusted to reduce gaps.

3. Transportation Safety and Fixing Measures

  1. Anti-slip Fixing: Tires need to be secured with straps or E-type heavy-duty trailer tie-downs to prevent movement during transportation. For example, a 4-piece set of tire straps can be used in conjunction with container tensioning devices.
  2. Weight Distribution: The maximum load capacity of a container is 18-26 tons, and the weight of the tires should be evenly distributed to avoid uneven loading. For example, a single 12R22.5 tire weighs approximately 60 kilograms, and a 40-foot container can carry a maximum of about 300 tires (total weight of 18 tons).

4. Special Scenario Applications

If the container house needs to be mobile (such as modular houses), tire selection should balance load-bearing capacity and mobility. For example, mobile houses in Nordic forests use custom tires to adapt to seasonal migration needs; while custom motorcycle tires for the African market need to be reinforced with tear resistance and drainage performance to cope with rainforest and gravel road conditions.
