Decoration of Container House with Terrace

Admin 16 de septiembre de 2026

There are various decoration methods for container houses with terraces, which can be designed according to different needs and styles. Here are some common decoration points:

I. Overall Structural Planning If a double-layer container structure is adopted, space expansion can be achieved through stacking or side-by-side combination. For example, in a Texas case, two containers stacked to form a two-story space, accommodating two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, a dining room, and a bar. The top-floor terrace was created by removing part of the container's top structure and reinforcing it. The two-story container house produced by Guangdong Feisite Factory uses built-in stairs to connect the upper and lower floors, and the terrace can be set on the top floor or the side. It is necessary to ensure structural load-bearing safety and proper waterproofing.

II. Exterior Wall and Floor Materials For exterior wall decoration, options include wood panels, metal panels, or paint. In the Texas case, wood panels covered the exterior walls to create a natural atmosphere; for a modern look, carbon crystal panels or metal panels can be used. Floor materials need to balance practicality and aesthetics. Tiled floors are commonly used indoors for easy cleaning, while terraces can use rot-resistant wood, non-slip tiles, or composite materials to ensure weather resistance. For example, in a Guangdong case, tiled floors were used indoors, and rot-resistant wood might be chosen for the terrace to enhance comfort.

III. Indoor Functional Zoning Divide the space according to usage needs. In a renovation case for a young couple, an open design was used to integrate the living and dining rooms. In the Texas case, a spiral staircase separated the dynamic and static areas, with bedrooms on the second floor and the kitchen, bathroom, and public areas on the first floor. The kitchen can be equipped with compact appliances such as mini-fridges and ovens, paired with a window-side bar to improve space utilization. The bathroom should have proper wet-dry separation and use waterproof materials.

IV. Lighting and Ventilation Optimization Container houses can appear enclosed, so it is necessary to introduce natural light through large windows. In the Texas case, three large windows at the entrance significantly improved indoor brightness; in the Guangdong case, aluminum ceiling panels and a well-planned lighting circuit supplemented the lighting. For ventilation, operable windows can be installed or exhaust fans can be used. It is recommended to use glass sliding doors at the connection between the terrace and the interior to enhance air circulation.

V. Terrace Function Extension The terrace can serve as a leisure, viewing, or planting area. Outdoor furniture, umbrellas, or green plants can be placed to create a private garden; if space allows, a barbecue area or a small water feature can be added. In a self-built case, the rooftop terrace was reasonably planned to become a stunning leisure space, with attention paid to the construction of the waterproof layer and the design of the drainage system.
