Container House with Private Bathroom

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

Container houses can be equipped with private bathrooms, but the actual experience is limited by space, design, and cost. The following analysis is conducted from different scenarios and design perspectives:

1. Limitations in Emergency or Temporary Scenarios
In emergency scenarios such as the Nagoya Asian Games, container houses are transformed into temporary accommodation areas, adopting a layout of 'three people per room sharing a bathroom'. The typical dimensions of such a single container house are 12 meters in length and 2.4 meters in width, resulting in limited internal space and compact bathroom facilities. For example, the container house occupied by the Chinese men's basketball team was equipped with only one air conditioner, requiring 'opening the door before bed to cool down' to address insulation issues; the bathroom space was cramped, with three people sharing a toilet and shower, leading to issues such as queuing for use and poor privacy. Additionally, temporarily modified container houses may suffer from inadequate drainage systems, leading to water accumulation and leakage during heavy rain, further affecting bathroom functionality.

2. Standardized Configuration in Modular Construction
In the field of modular construction, container houses can achieve standardized installation of private bathrooms through factory prefabrication. For example, connecting two containers can create a flat layout of approximately 100 square meters, including two bedrooms, a bathroom with a bathtub, and a living-dining area; a split-level design can optimize ventilation and lighting, with a leisure courtyard or corridor area on the ground floor. Such houses undergo precise assembly of steel structures, walls, pipelines, and bathrooms in the factory, resulting in high on-site assembly efficiency. Moreover, bathroom facilities (such as toilets and showers) are integrated simultaneously with the main structure of the house, providing complete functionality. However, the cost is relatively high and requires customization based on needs.

3. Diverse Options in Commercial Products
There are various container house products on the market with private bathrooms, with prices varying based on materials, functions, and scale. For example, a basic cross-border independent bathroom container house costs around 160 yuan but has simple functions; a customized container house with a bathroom for living can cost between 8,800 yuan and 10,700 yuan, equipped with a complete water and electricity system and decoration; high-end mobile shops or double-story container houses even integrate glass curtain walls and double-wing expansion structures, with higher prices. Such products typically use steel frames, rock wool boards, or color steel plate walls, providing waterproof and windproof performance to meet long-term use requirements.

4. Design Optimization to Improve Space Utilization
For small-sized container houses, multi-functional furniture can be used to enhance the flexibility of bathroom space. For example, adopting folding doors, wall-mounted toilets, and mini showers can reduce space occupation; or optimizing details such as dry-wet separation and concealed drainage can improve comfort. Additionally, modular bathroom units can enable quick installation and replacement, reducing later maintenance costs.
