Waterproof Sealing Strip for Container Houses
Admin 17 de septiembre de 2026
The waterproof sealing strip for container houses is a crucial component used to prevent the intrusion of rainwater, dust, and other elements into container houses. It comes in various types and material characteristics.

Types of Sealing Strips
- Door Seal Strips: Installed around the doors of container houses, these strips are used to seal the gaps between the doors and door frames. They typically feature a hollow, sponge-like tubular structure that compresses when the door is closed, utilizing elasticity to fill the gaps and effectively block the intrusion of rainwater and dust, ensuring the interior of the container remains dry and clean.
- Ventilator Seal Strips: Some containers are equipped with ventilation openings, and the sealing strips around the ventilators are of utmost importance. When the ventilation device is closed, these strips ensure complete sealing, preventing water from seeping in through the ventilation openings and maintaining a suitable environment inside the container.
- Sealing Strips at the Junction of the Roof and Side Panels: During the manufacturing or repair of container houses, specific sealing strips are used to fill and seal the gaps between the panels. This ensures the overall water tightness of the container body, preventing cargo damage caused by water leakage through the seams.
Materials of Sealing Strips
- Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) Rubber: Widely used due to its excellent overall performance. It has exceptional weather resistance, capable of withstanding long-term exposure to ultraviolet rays, ozone, high temperatures, and low temperatures without aging or cracking. It offers good elasticity, low compression set, and can maintain sealing pressure over an extended period. It also has good resistance to various chemicals and is environmentally friendly and non-toxic. For containers used in complex climates and maritime environments over the long term, EPDM rubber is the preferred material, balancing durability, sealing performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Chloroprene Rubber (CR Rubber): It has good oil resistance, heat resistance, and flame retardancy, along with high mechanical strength. However, its low-temperature resistance and ozone resistance are slightly inferior to those of EPDM rubber, and it ages relatively faster when exposed to the sun outdoors for extended periods.
- Silicone Rubber: It has a wide operating temperature range, excellent high- and low-temperature resistance, and good chemical stability. However, its mechanical strength is relatively low, and its cost is higher. It is mostly used in applications with special temperature requirements.
- Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC): It has a low cost and certain flexibility and corrosion resistance. However, its high- and low-temperature resistance, elasticity, and durability are far inferior to those of rubber materials. It tends to become hard and brittle in cold environments and soften and deform at high temperatures, typically used in short-term or indoor applications with low sealing requirements.
