Container House Waterproof Design

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

The waterproof design of container houses requires comprehensive consideration from multiple aspects, including material selection, construction techniques, structural optimization, and post-construction maintenance:

1. Material Selection and Treatment

The main body of container houses is made of steel, which requires strict rust and corrosion prevention treatment. During the construction phase, all cutting and welding incisions must be polished smooth and coated with epoxy primer and topcoat to prevent rust. The foundation of the container should be elevated to avoid direct contact with ground moisture and reduce the risk of rust at the bottom. For roofs and walls, high-density thermal insulation rock wool can be used for filling, combined with thermal break insulation technology to enhance thermal insulation performance and reduce condensation caused by temperature differences.

2. Construction Technique Optimization

Waterproof sealing is crucial for preventing leaks. Areas such as around doors and windows, container body joints, and roof gutters should be fully sealed with high-quality sealant and replaced regularly (typically every 5-7 years). The roof design should incorporate an appropriate drainage slope to ensure smooth rainwater runoff and prevent water accumulation that could corrode the steel plate. For areas prone to leaks, such as panel joints and roof splices, waterproof membranes can be used for reinforcement to create multiple layers of waterproofing.

3. Structural Optimization Design

Container houses can improve waterproof performance through structural optimization. For example, adopting an arched roof design enhances the roof's load-bearing capacity while optimizing drainage paths. During assembly, ensure tight connections between containers to prevent water leakage through gaps. For multi-story stacked container houses, special attention should be paid to waterproofing between floors to prevent rainwater infiltration.

4. Post-Construction Maintenance and Management

Regular inspection and maintenance are essential for maintaining the waterproof performance of container houses. Annual inspections should be conducted on welds, corners, bottoms, eaves, and other areas to promptly address any rust spots or aging sealant. Additionally, clear debris such as fallen leaves from the roof to maintain unobstructed drainage. In humid or coastal areas, the frequency of heavy-duty anti-corrosion coating applications should be increased to ensure the long-term good condition of the container.
