Container House Wall Panel Thickness

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

The thickness of container house wall panels varies depending on the material and type, with a common range from 0.4mm to 100mm. It can be divided into the following situations:

1. Metal wall panels
If container houses use metal wall panels, the thickness is usually between 0.4mm and 3.0mm. For example, aluminum single-plate wall panels commonly have thicknesses of 2.0mm, 2.5mm, and 3.0mm, suitable for scenarios with high requirements for weather resistance and decoration. Corrugated plates or side panels, as container accessories, have a thickness range of 0.8mm to 2.0mm, can be customized, and are mostly made of Q235 steel, used for standard shipping containers or container house wall panels.

2. Sandwich panel wall panels
If sandwich panels are used as wall panels, the thickness is usually between 50mm and 100mm. For example, the prefabricated wall panels of modular container houses have thicknesses of 50mm, 75mm, or 100mm, with core materials of EPS (polystyrene) or rock wool, and inner and outer layers of 0.45mm-thick color-coated steel sheets. The wall materials of packing-box container houses are 75mm-thick color-coated steel glass wool sandwich panels, with the same thickness of color-coated steel sheets on the inside and outside. These wall panels combine thermal insulation, fire resistance, and structural strength, suitable for scenarios requiring heat insulation or sound insulation.

3. Other material wall panels
Some container houses may use lightweight wall panels, such as rock wool panels or glass wool panels, with thicknesses of 50mm or 75mm, for thermal insulation and fire protection. If higher strength is required, the wall panel thickness may increase to 100mm, such as the prefabricated wall panels of modular container houses. In addition, the wall panel thickness of customized container houses may be further adjusted according to design requirements. For example, the thickness range of container corrugated plates processed by Cangzhou Xinhe is from 0.8mm to 2.0mm, which can meet different load-bearing and cost requirements.

Summary: The selection of container house wall panel thickness should comprehensively consider the material, functional requirements, and cost. Metal wall panels are mainly thin and light, sandwich panels are mainly medium-thick, and thermal insulation and fireproof wall panels are mainly thick. In actual projects, it is recommended to determine the final thickness according to the specific use (such as temporary office, residential, or industrial use) and supplier standards.
