Underground Design Drawing of Container House

Admin 17 de septiembre de 2026

Currently, there are no ready-made underground design drawings for container houses, but the following design and construction points can be referred to for planning:

Size Adaptation: Standard containers come in two common specifications: 6 meters or 12 meters in length, 2.4 meters in width, and 2.6 meters in height. When designing underground, the excavation depth should be 0.5 meters deeper than the height of the container. This extra space facilitates subsequent construction operations, such as installing auxiliary facilities or facilitating worker operations, ensuring the smooth construction of the entire underground container house.

Structural Reinforcement: Before burying the container underground, reinforcement bars should be welded at the four corners of the container. The four corners are critical load-bearing parts of the container structure, and welding reinforcement bars can enhance its structural strength, enabling it to better withstand various pressures from the underground environment. Additionally, a 10cm-thick reinforced concrete slab should be laid on the top of the container. This measure further improves the load-bearing capacity of the container top, preventing deformation or damage due to the pressure from the overlying soil layer or other factors, ensuring the structural safety of the underground container house.

Access Design: It is recommended to cut a door opening measuring 1.2 meters by 2 meters on the side of the container. This size of door opening can meet the needs of personnel and general items entering and exiting. For the door opening, a spiral staircase or a hydraulic lifting platform can be used. The spiral staircase saves space relatively and is suitable for compact underground environments; the hydraulic lifting platform is more flexible and can adjust its height according to actual needs, facilitating use in different situations.

Foundation Design: Container buildings adopt independent foundations, and the foundation can be treated by replacing with graded sand and gravel. After treatment, the bearing capacity of the foundation should not be less than 150Kpa to ensure it can bear the weight of the container house and its internal facilities. When the top burial depth of the independent foundation is not less than the cross-sectional height of the ground beam, short columns should be set up according to the specifications. The side length of the short column is b + 200 (b is the side length of the column), and the stirrups of the short column are the same as those of the column. This design enhances the stability of the foundation, ensuring the underground container house remains stable in the underground environment.
