Container House Transshipment Requirements

Admin 14 de septiembre de 2026

Foldable containers that meet the requirements of export container sea transportation need to satisfy three core requirements: compliant size, sturdy structure, and convenient installation, as detailed below:

1. Folded size must fully comply with standard sea container loading specifications

There are unified standards for the internal dimensions of sea containers (e.g., the internal dimensions of a 20-foot container are approximately 5.89m×2.35m×2.39m, and those of a 40-foot container are approximately 12.03m×2.35m×2.39m). Foldable containers must strictly match these dimensions in their folded state, eliminating the need for additional custom transportation carriers, thereby reducing transportation costs and improving loading efficiency. For example, the export loading dimensions of Xi'an packing-box prefabricated temporary buildings have been reduced to 5850×2300×2700 millimeters, allowing a 40-foot container to load 6-8 sets, significantly increasing the loading capacity per container.

2. Overall structure must be sturdy and adaptable to the sea transportation environment

Foldable containers need to have a high-strength light steel frame, paired with anti-corrosion treatment (such as hot-dip galvanizing), to withstand the bumps, vibrations, and salt spray corrosion during sea transportation. Structural stability must meet the following requirements:

  • Wind and earthquake resistance: Must pass a 120km/h wind speed test and meet the requirements for an 8-degree earthquake resistance intensity, ensuring no deformation or damage in harsh environments.
  • Waterproof sealing: Adopt structural waterproofing design (such as roof slope and sealing strips) to prevent rainwater infiltration and protect internal facilities.
  • Durability: Materials must be corrosion-resistant and aging-resistant, with a service life of 15-20 years, reducing long-term maintenance costs.

3. Installation process must be simple, supporting rapid deployment and retrieval

Foldable containers need to have structural, insulation, plumbing, and electrical modules pre-installed at the factory, eliminating the need for wet work upon arrival at the destination. They can be unfolded and secured within 1 hour using hydraulic or mechanical methods and put into use immediately. For example, Shaanxi Huateng packing-box prefabricated temporary buildings support whole-box transportation or flattened compressed transportation, reducing volume by 1/4 after compression, saving freight costs while simplifying on-site installation procedures. Additionally, the product must support repeated turnover use, reducing investment costs for multiple projects through folding and transshipment.

Additional functional designs enhance adaptability

Mainstream foldable containers also have the following functions to enhance market competitiveness:

  • Double-wing foldable expansion: The space can be expanded by 2-3 times when unfolded on both sides, meeting diverse needs such as temporary offices and accommodations.
  • Flexible combination of multiple containers: Supports horizontal splicing and multi-layer stacking, allowing free combination into functional spaces such as office areas and dormitory areas.
  • Integrated safety protection: Incorporates fire prevention, insulation, heat insulation, anti-corrosion, and rust prevention properties, adapting to different climatic conditions (such as wind and heat insulation requirements in temperate monsoon climate zones).
