Container House Toilet Installation
Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026
The installation of toilets in container houses requires combining the characteristics of container houses with conventional toilet installation standards, with a focus on proper size fitting, water and electricity reservation, sealing to prevent leaks, and stability handling. The specific steps and precautions are as follows:

I. Pre-installation Preparation
Size Measurement and Fitting
- Pit Distance Measurement: Accurately measure the vertical distance from the center of the drainage outlet on the container floor to the back wall (pit distance) to ensure that the pit distance of the selected toilet matches it (common pit distances are 300mm or 400mm). If the container floor is covered with flooring or tiles, measure the actual distance after installation.
- Space Planning: The interior space of a container is limited, so it is necessary to plan the toilet location in advance to ensure sufficient space around it (it is recommended to leave at least 45cm on the side and at least 60cm in front) for daily use.
Inspection of Water and Electricity Reservations
- Water Inlet: Confirm that a water inlet for the toilet has been reserved inside the container, and its position should align with the water inlet valve of the toilet tank, and the water pressure should meet the requirements (generally, it should be ≥0.1MPa).
- Drainage Outlet: Check whether the height of the drainage outlet matches that of the toilet's sewage outlet (usually, it should be 5-10mm above the floor). If the height is insufficient, adjust it with an angle grinder or solve the problem by adding a reducer joint for the drainage pipe.
- Power Supply (for smart toilets): If installing a smart toilet, reserve a three-hole socket with a waterproof cover on the side of the toilet, and the length of the power cord should cover the distance from the toilet to the socket.
Tool and Material Preparation
- Tools: Adjustable wrench, screwdriver, level, tape measure, silicone gun, angle grinder (for adjusting the drainage outlet).
- Materials: Flange ring (for sealing the sewage outlet), silicone (for waterproof sealing), Teflon tape (for wrapping the water inlet joint to prevent leaks), expansion bolts (for fixing the toilet base).
II. Installation Steps
Cleaning and Positioning
- Clean the container floor and the drainage outlet to ensure there are no debris or dust.
- Mark the installation position on the floor according to the size of the toilet base, and adjust it to be completely level with a level (to avoid toilet tilting and water leakage).
Installation of the Flange Ring and Sewage Pipe
- Align the flange ring with the center of the drainage outlet and press it firmly to make it fit the floor, ensuring that the adhesive cement of the flange ring completely wraps the wall of the drainage pipe to form a seal.
- If the height of the drainage outlet is insufficient, use an angle grinder to cut off the excess part or add a drainage pipe extension.
Fixing the Toilet Base
- Align the toilet's sewage outlet with the flange ring, slowly lower it and press it firmly to make the toilet base completely coincide with the marked line on the floor.
- Insert expansion bolts on both sides of the toilet base to fix the toilet and prevent displacement.
- Seal along the edge where the toilet base contacts the floor with silicone to prevent odor leakage.
Connection of Water Inlet and Power Supply
- Water Inlet Connection: Wrap Teflon tape around the water inlet, connect the water inlet hose to the water inlet valve of the toilet tank, and tighten it to avoid water leakage.
- Power Supply Connection (for smart toilets): Plug the power cord into the reserved socket and ensure good grounding.
Commissioning and Acceptance
- Check whether the water inlet valve and the drainage valve are sealed and there is no water leakage by turning on the water.
- Test the functions of the smart toilet (such as seat heating, flushing, and drying) by turning on the power to ensure normal operation.
- Observe for 24 hours to confirm that the silicone is completely cured and there is no leakage.
III. Precautions
Adaptation to Container Characteristics
- The container floor may be made of steel plate or wood, so choose the appropriate fixing method according to the material (e.g., self-tapping screws for steel plates and expansion bolts for wood).
- If the container is moved frequently, strengthen the toilet fixing (e.g., add a base support frame) to prevent loosening due to vibration.
Sealing and Odor Prevention
- The flange ring should be installed firmly to prevent air leakage and odor return during sewage discharge.
- Choose mold-resistant silicone to ensure that it does not turn black or crack during long-term use.
Safe Use of Electricity
- The socket for the smart toilet should be equipped with a waterproof cover to prevent short circuits caused by water splashing.
- The power cord should be hidden or fixed to avoid being trampled and damaged.
