Three Views of Container House
Admin 16 de septiembre de 2026
The three views of a container house typically include the front view, top view, and side view. The following provides an introduction from the perspectives of design points and case references:

Design Points
- Front View: The front view displays the front face of the container house. It should primarily showcase the house's exterior appearance, such as the way the containers are assembled—whether horizontally, vertically stacked, or staggered; the positions and sizes of doors and windows, which can be in regular rectangular shapes or designed as arcs, triangles, or other special shapes to enhance aesthetics; and the decorative materials and colors of the exterior walls. For example, using wooden panels for decoration creates a warm and natural atmosphere, while metal panels offer a more modern look.
- Top View: The top view provides a clear view of the house's roof layout and overall outline. It should clarify the arrangement of containers and the design of the roof, whether it is a flat roof, pitched roof, or another special shape. If there are balconies, terraces, or other spaces, their positions and ranges should be accurately marked in the top view. It can also reflect the environmental layout around the house, such as courtyards and green areas.
- Side View: The side view mainly displays the side profile of the house. It reveals the number of floors and height of the containers, as well as the placement of doors and windows on the sides. For sides with special shapes or decorations, such as installed sunshades or decorative lines, these should also be detailed in the side view.
Case References
- Melbourne Container Villa: This villa underwent two renovations, with the second one changing the initial two-story stacked arrangement to a staggered stack of three containers. From the perspective of the three views, the front view shows the staggered design and the high-strength glass walls at the front and back; the top view presents the layout of the three containers and the position of the roof opening (reserved for tree growth); the side view reflects the height difference of the staggered levels and the transparency of the side glass walls.
- São Paulo 'Container Residence': This residence is composed of two 40-foot containers placed side by side. The front view reveals the overall appearance after assembly, the positions of doors and windows, and the unique design of the sunshades on the exterior facade; the top view clearly shows the layout of the 60-square-meter residence and the range of the 90-square-meter outdoor space; the side view presents the side profile of the containers and the side effect of the sunshades.
