Container House Technical Specifications

Admin 16 de septiembre de 2026

The technical specifications for container houses mainly cover aspects such as structural performance, fire prevention and corrosion resistance, dimensions and specifications, as well as installation and use. Details are as follows:

Structural Performance

  • Structural Stability: It should comply with relevant building seismic design codes, such as GB50011 - 2010. Under extreme conditions, such as simulated coastal typhoons of force 12 and high-intensity earthquakes of magnitude 8, the deformation rate of the core frame should be lower than the industry's qualified threshold. For example, the deformation rate of the packing-box frame of Suzhou Zhongnan Steel Structure Co., Ltd. is only 0.18%, far lower than the industry's qualified threshold of 0.3%.
  • Steel Usage: For the container body, welded weathering steel (GB/T 4171) should be used, and for non-container body components, Q235B/Q345B (GB/T 700, GB/T 1591) should be used. When a pure steel frame is under load, the wall panels, roof panels, and glass do not bear the load. The force path is clear, and the corner fittings are the only points for stacking and force transmission. Spot welding cannot be used as a substitute.
  • Openings and Overhangs: When large openings are made, which weaken the stiffness, it is advisable to arrange the boxes with holes and those without holes in a staggered and symmetrical manner. The overhang length should not be too large, and no holes are allowed in the overhanging sections. The lateral force-resisting members should be symmetrical in plan and have uniform vertical stiffness. For multi-story stacked containers, the corner fittings and corner columns must be aligned and locked vertically.

Fire Prevention and Corrosion Resistance

  • Enclosure Filling: The use of flammable core materials such as EPS is prohibited. For crowded places, Class A rock wool/glass wool should be used, and the fire resistance limit should be controlled according to GB50016, with a common requirement of ≥0.5h, and stricter requirements for high-rise modules.
  • Fire Protection Configuration: Steel structures need to be coated with fire-resistant coatings. Floor-level fire separations, escape routes (with a clear width of ≥0.9m), fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, emergency lighting, etc., should be set up according to the requirements for public buildings.
  • Corrosion Protection Treatment: Hot-dip galvanizing treatment has a longer corrosion protection life than cold-dip galvanizing, especially in areas with large temperature differences between day and night and significant humidity changes. The quality of the coating directly determines the rusting speed of the container body.

Dimensions and Specifications

There are standard containers and non-standard containers. For example, a standard 20-foot container has an external length of 6055mm, a width of 2435mm, a packing height of 648/864mm, and an assembled height of 2591/2790mm, etc. Different specifications have different dimensions and weights.

Installation and Use

  • Ground Treatment: A uniform load-bearing foundation needs to be provided for the container house.
  • Installation Efficiency: The installation efficiency varies among different enterprises and products. For example, the quick-assembly container of Suzhou Zhongnan can be installed in just 2 hours for a single set and supports on-demand splicing and combination.
