Technical Requirements for Container Houses
Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026
The technical requirements for container houses cover multiple aspects such as structural stability, material performance, installation techniques, fire prevention and corrosion resistance, as well as compliance:

Structural Stability
- Foundation Standards: Must comply with specifications such as the "Technical Specification for Modular Container Houses" (CECS 334:2013), with seismic fortification intensity not exceeding 8 degrees, number of floors ≤ 6, and height ≤ 24 meters.
- Load Path: Adopt a pure steel frame structure, where loads are transferred from panel secondary beams → main beams → corner columns → corner fittings to the foundation. Corner fittings are the only stacking load transfer points, and spot welding substitution is prohibited.
- Deformation Resistance: In a 12-grade strong wind environment, the maximum deformation of the frame must be below the national standard limit (e.g., 10mm), with leading enterprise products controlling deformation to 2-3mm.
Material Performance
- Steel Requirements: Use welded weathering steel (GB/T 4171) for the container body, and Q235B/Q345B steel for non-container components. The wall thickness of columns and bottom beams is recommended to be 1.5-3mm.
- Thermal Insulation: Adopt a three-layer structure (outer layer of galvanized sheet + intermediate rock wool layer + inner layer of PVC-coated steel sheet), with rock wool thickness of 80-100mm, and an additional elevated layer at the bottom to block cold bridges.
- Fire Rating: Prohibit the use of flammable materials such as EPS for enclosure filling. For crowded venues, use Class A rock wool/glass wool with a fire resistance limit of ≥ 0.5 hours.
Installation Techniques
- Sealing and Waterproofing: Test the container's sealing, thermal insulation, waterproofing, and moisture resistance. Sealant strips for doors and windows and joint seams must undergo airtightness treatment.
- Concealed Works: Strictly construct concealed aspects such as water, electricity, and gas installations, as well as moisture and waterproofing, to avoid rework later.
- On-site Assembly: Prefabricated products can be lifted in just a few hours, while on-site assembly of non-standard products can take up to 2-3 days per unit.
Fire Prevention and Corrosion Resistance
- Fire Prevention Measures: Equip with steel structure fire-resistant coatings, floor fire separations, escape routes (clear width ≥ 0.9m), and fire extinguishers/smoke detectors/emergency lighting.
- Corrosion Treatment: Adopt hot-dip galvanizing on the container body surface, which has a significantly longer corrosion resistance life than cold-dip galvanizing, especially suitable for areas with large diurnal temperature variations and significant humidity changes.
Compliance Requirements
- Qualification Certifications: Must hold ISO quality system certification, CE certification (for export products), fire performance testing certification, and steel structure professional contracting qualifications.
- Environmental Standards: The product's reusability rate must reach over 80%, with materials recyclable after disassembly to reduce construction waste emissions.
