Container House Splicing Methods

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

Container house splicing methods mainly fall into two categories: bolt-connected assembly and welding. The specific splicing steps and key points are as follows:

Bolt-Connected Assembly

  • Base Frame Installation: On a flat ground or workbench, connect the bottom corners of the container to the base beams using hexagon socket bolts, but do not tighten them yet. After alignment, ensure that the diagonal difference of the base frame is ≤3mm, and then tighten the bolts. Install π-shaped secondary beams according to the positions of the positioning holes on the long beams and fix them with self-tapping screws. The tops of the π-shaped secondary beams and the base beams should be fixed with round-head self-drilling screws.
  • Floor Installation: Lay the floor substrate (such as magnesium oxide board) along the 6-meter direction, and cut the corners of the substrates at both ends according to the chalk lines. Mark the centerline of the π-shaped beams, start laying the floor from one end, and align the splicing joints with the centerline of the π-shaped beams. After laying, snap chalk lines on the floor and fix them with cross-head flat-tail screws, with a nail spacing of 300-350mm. Finally, sand the entire floor, apply PVC special floor adhesive, wait for 10-15 minutes, lay the floor covering, expel the air, and if possible, perform welding treatment on the splicing joints of the floor covering.
  • Splicing and Combination: By splicing or staggered stacking 2-3 containers, functional areas such as living rooms, bedrooms, and bathrooms can be expanded. For example, after connecting two containers, a flat layout with an integrated living and dining area, two bedrooms, and a bathroom with a bathtub can be formed. In staggered designs, stacking containers on different levels creates richer spatial layers and leaves recreational courtyards or aisles on the ground floor to improve ventilation and lighting.

Welding Splicing

  • Base Welding: Weld the main crossbeams around the top and bottom of the container using channel steel (such as 5X10 channel steel), similar to the ring beams in house construction.
  • Column Welding: The thickness of the columns in a container house should be no less than 1mm and should be pressed into shape using professional equipment. Ready-made columns are available on the market. The channel steel and columns form the skeleton of the entire container house, providing support and determining the sturdiness of the house.
  • Overall Welding: Weld each component according to the design requirements to ensure welding quality and make the house structure stable.
