Container House: Simple and Tidy

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

Container houses can achieve a simple and tidy effect through reasonable design and renovation, while also taking into account practicality and aesthetics. Here are the specific implementation methods:

1. Structural Selection and Foundation Treatment
The simplicity of a container house starts with its structural type. Welded integral containers, with their direct force paths and strong resistance to deformation, are suitable for scenarios that pursue stability. Bolt-connected modular containers, on the other hand, are composed of standard panels, facilitating flexible layout adjustments. Regardless of the structural type chosen, ground treatment is crucial. It is necessary to remove floating soil and debris and compact the original soil layer to prevent door and window deformation or wall cracks due to local settlement. If an elevated pile foundation is adopted, it can further enhance moisture and insect resistance while keeping the interior dry and tidy.

2. Spatial Layout and Functional Zoning
Expanding space through modular assembly is a core strategy. For example, stacking 2-3 containers in a staggered manner can divide the space into functional areas such as a living room, bedroom, and bathroom. For small units (e.g., 15㎡), designs like foldable beds and integrated cabinets can be used to improve space utilization. The interior layout should follow the principle of "function first": open-plan living and dining areas reduce partitions, bedrooms and bathrooms maintain privacy, and the kitchen and storage area are planned nearby to avoid crossing paths, thereby maintaining visual and functional tidiness.

3. Lighting and Insulation Design
The introduction of large floor-to-ceiling windows, roof skylights, and glass partitions can significantly enhance indoor brightness, reduce the need for artificial lighting, and blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces, enhancing spatial permeability. In terms of insulation, the walls and roof should be equipped with internal insulation layers, and triple-glazed windows should be selected to reduce heat conduction. Roof eaves or terrace sunshades can block direct sunlight in summer, preventing the interior from overheating. These designs not only improve living comfort but also reduce energy consumption, aligning with a simple and efficient lifestyle concept.

4. Exterior Beautification and Unified Style
Exterior facade treatment is key to shedding the industrial look. Paint spraying, themed murals, or cladding decoration can be used to create a simple, rustic, or industrial style. The application of glass curtain walls can enhance a modern feel. In terms of color matching, it is recommended to use monochromatic or bichromatic schemes to avoid excessive complexity. Interior decoration can combine natural wood furniture with white walls to create a warm atmosphere. Additionally, regularly inspecting the anti-rust coatings on welds, corners, and other parts and promptly repainting for maintenance can keep the exterior tidy for a long time.
