Container House Sandwich Materials
Common sandwich materials for container houses mainly include rock wool, polystyrene, polyurethane, high-density calcium silicate, and fiber cement, among others.

Rock wool sandwich material: It is a relatively common and high-performance option. Its fibers are arranged perpendicular to the heat flow path, limiting the thermal conductivity to below 0.040 W/(m·K). This effectively prevents heat transfer and provides good thermal insulation. Rock wool has a melting point exceeding 1000 degrees Celsius and offers Class A fire resistance. It is widely used in locations near heavy machinery with high fire safety requirements, as well as in situations requiring basic thermal insulation in low-temperature environments (e.g., -30 degrees Celsius). For example, Yiqi Company uses a three-layer composite structure of 'rock wool - air layer - galvanized aluminum sheet'. The 5-millimeter air layer in the middle suppresses convective heat transfer through a closed cavity, reducing the overall heat transfer coefficient to below 0.5 W/(m²·K), minimizing condensation risks and extending the service life of steel structures.
Polystyrene sandwich material: It is mostly used in office areas and other scenarios with low weight requirements, reducing the overall weight of the house. However, its fire resistance is relatively inferior to that of rock wool.
Polyurethane sandwich material: Its thermal conductivity typically ranges from 0.024 to 0.045 W/(m·K), much lower than that of ordinary brick walls, providing excellent thermal insulation. Polyurethane-edged rock wool products can withstand high temperatures of up to 1000 degrees Celsius and feature a rigid layered structure, making them suitable for steel structure enclosure scenarios.
High-density calcium silicate sandwich material: A 20mm-thick product can meet the Class A1 flame retardant standard, offering outstanding waterproof, moisture-proof, and sound insulation properties. It can be used as a厢房 (side room) floor.
Fiber cement sandwich material: It is lightweight yet strong, with excellent thermal insulation properties, making it suitable for the renovation of container house interlayers.
