Container House Safety House

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

If compliant materials and designs are used, container houses can possess a certain degree of safety. However, if inferior materials are used or construction is carried out in violation of regulations, significant safety hazards exist, and they cannot be considered absolute safety houses.

Prominent Fire Safety Hazards

Some container houses use flammable materials such as polystyrene and polyurethane foam as core materials to save costs. These materials have poor fire resistance, and sparks from electrical welding or cigarette butts can ignite them. Once a fire breaks out, it spreads rapidly, and at 80℃, melting deformation and dripping occur. The drippings can trigger more severe combustion, and the combustion products are highly toxic. At the same time, after a fire occurs, the flames spread extremely quickly and are prone to collapse in a short time. The collapsed containers are wrapped in iron sheets, making it difficult for firefighting water guns to shoot water inside, greatly increasing the difficulty of firefighting and rescue. In addition, the combustion of polystyrene and polyurethane produces thick black smoke, and toxic smoke accumulates inside the rooms, making it difficult for trapped people to survive and prone to casualties.

Cases Where Structural Safety is Guaranteed

Some high-quality container houses are prefabricated with durable steel structures, such as 20-foot and 40-foot prefabricated container houses, which have a sturdy structure. Moreover, container houses produced by regular manufacturers, if made with rock wool boards and fireproof cotton as fillers, can meet fire safety conditions on construction sites by achieving an A-grade fire resistance limit or above. For example, the container house products of Chengdong Camp can withstand an earthquake intensity of 8 degrees, equivalent to a seismic resistance grade of 6.4, and have been verified through ultimate load-bearing capacity experiments on the houses. In terms of wind resistance, the standard product design can withstand a certain wind pressure, approximately equivalent to a wind force of level 10. For areas with strong winds, measures such as structural reinforcement of the house body and auxiliary reinforcement of the external structure can also ensure the safe use of the houses.

Usage Precautions

To ensure the safety of container houses, during use, heat sources and fire sources should not be placed close to the container panel houses, and a certain distance should be maintained for open-flame operations. Wires and cables should be protected with sleeves, and socket and switch boxes should be made of metal galvanized boxes and installed in an exposed manner. Simple firefighting equipment should be equipped both inside and outside. At the same time, a safety distance of at least 6 meters should be maintained between container panel houses.
