Container House Roof Reinforcement Specification

Admin 16 de septiembre de 2026

The reinforcement of container house roofs should be carried out comprehensively, taking into account structural characteristics and regulatory requirements, including material selection, connection reinforcement, and wind resistance design. The specific key points of the specification are as follows:

1. Structural System and Material Requirements The reinforcement of container house roofs should comply with standards such as the "Code for Design of Steel Structures" and the "Technical Code for Cold-Formed Thin-Wall Steel Structures". High-strength cold-rolled steel plates or galvanized steel beams and columns should be preferred as load-bearing frameworks to ensure that the tensile and compressive strengths of the materials meet design requirements. For example, in the case of temporary housing made from corrugated containers, channel steel or square tubes are used as the steel framework, and the material specifications must meet the overall stability requirements. If double-layer steel plates with fire-resistant rock wool are used for wall panels, it is necessary to ensure that the density of the rock wool and the thickness of the steel plates meet standards to avoid roof deformation due to insufficient material performance.

2. Connection Node Reinforcement The connection between container bodies is crucial for the stability of the roof. Corrugated containers are connected by bolts, and it is necessary to regularly inspect the tightness of the bolts, promptly replace any loose or corroded bolts, and add anti-loosening devices. For container houses that are stacked in an offset manner, steel frameworks should be used to reinforce the roof interfaces, such as adding diagonal braces or horizontal tie rods, to form a spatial force system and disperse stress concentrations under wind loads or seismic actions.

3. Wind Resistance Design Measures In coastal or strong wind areas, it is necessary to focus on strengthening the wind resistance of the roof. Referring to the "Technical Code for Temporary Buildings on Construction Sites", special wind-resistant structures should be provided on the roof:

  • Adding Pressure Strips: U-shaped pressure strips should be added at the seams of the roof steel plates and fixed with self-tapping screws to prevent the roof from being lifted by strong winds.
  • Diagonal Bracing: Diagonal steel braces should be added at the four corners and the middle of the roof to form rigid connections with the walls or columns, improving the overall lateral stiffness.
  • Wind-Resistant Fasteners: For modular container houses, special wind-resistant fasteners should be used to fix the roofs of adjacent container bodies to avoid relative displacement.

4. Fire Prevention and Corrosion Protection Treatment Roof materials should meet the requirements of the "Code for Fire Protection Design of Buildings", with a combustion performance rating of Class A. Steel components should undergo corrosion protection treatment, such as hot-dip galvanizing or spraying anti-rust paint, to extend their service life. For example, manufacturers of container movable houses in Yancheng solve both fire prevention and thermal insulation problems simultaneously by filling them with fire-resistant insulation materials such as rock wool and polyurethane.

5. Construction and Acceptance Specifications Reinforcement construction should be carried out by professional teams, strictly following the design drawings. Focus should be placed on inspecting connection nodes, support systems, and material quality. During acceptance, the roof's load-bearing capacity and wind resistance performance should be tested to ensure compliance with the safety requirements for temporary buildings in the "Code for Design of Concrete Structures".
