Container House Roof Load Bearing

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

According to international standards, the roof load-bearing capacity of container houses is 25T for 20-foot containers and 45T for 40-foot containers. Details are as follows:

Basis for Load-Bearing Standards

The core difference between container houses and traditional panel houses lies in their steel structural frames, which have clear load-bearing standards. According to international standards, the roof load-bearing capacity varies for container houses of different sizes. A 20-foot container has a load-bearing capacity of 25 tons, while a 40-foot container can bear 45 tons. This standard has been developed through long-term practice and application and can meet the load-bearing requirements in most conventional usage scenarios.

Structural Factors Related to Load Bearing

  • Steel Thickness: The thickness of the steel used for the main beams and columns is one of the key factors affecting the load-bearing capacity. Thicker steel can withstand greater pressure and weight, ensuring the safety of the container house during lifting, stacking, and transportation. If the steel thickness is insufficient, deformation or fracture may occur when bearing heavy loads, seriously affecting the service life and safety of the house.
  • Welding Process: Whether the welding process is full and free of cold solder joints is also crucial. A good welding process ensures that the connections between various components are firm, forming a stable overall steel structural frame that can better bear weight. Cold solder joints reduce the strength of the connection points, making them prone to separation under stress and leading to safety accidents.
  • Anti-Corrosion Treatment: Whether the container body has undergone overall galvanizing or anti-corrosion spraying treatment also has a certain impact on load bearing. A container body treated with anti-corrosion measures can better resist erosion from the external environment, maintaining the strength and stability of the steel and extending the service life of the house. If the anti-corrosion treatment is inadequate, the steel is prone to rust and corrosion, resulting in a decrease in strength and, consequently, affecting the load-bearing capacity.
