Container House Roof Leakage
Leakage on the roof of a container house requires targeted treatment based on the specific cause. Common causes include loose fasteners, aging waterproof materials, construction defects, and structural deformation.

Loose or Aged Fasteners
During the installation and use of a container house, if the roof is stepped on or subjected to long-term external forces, the fasteners may become loose, and the aging of the waterproof pads can also cause leakage. In this case, all fasteners on the roof should be inspected, re-tightened, and the aged waterproof pads should be replaced to ensure tightness.
Unqualified or Aged Waterproof Materials
If the waterproof materials selected during construction are of substandard quality or have exceeded their service life (such as cracking or delamination of waterproof membranes), the roof waterproofing will fail. Aged materials should be removed, and new standard-compliant waterproof membranes should be laid or waterproof coatings should be applied, ensuring that the material's weather resistance (such as UV resistance and temperature difference resistance) meets requirements.
Construction Defects
- Improper Joint Treatment: If the joints between roof panels or around openings (such as fans and exhaust pipes) are not properly waterproofed, leakage channels can form. Joints should be re-treated with structural adhesive or specialized sealing materials to ensure no gaps.
- Drainage System Failure: If the gutter has no slope, the outlet is blocked, or the anti-corrosion treatment is inadequate, rainwater can accumulate and erode the roof. Debris in the gutter should be cleared, the slope should be repaired, and anti-corrosion treatment should be strengthened.
Structural Deformation
Under wind loads, snow loads, or thermal expansion and contraction, the roof panels of a container house may deform, damaging the original waterproof layer. The stability of the roof structure should be checked, deformed parts should be repaired, and waterproofing should be redone. For local damage, materials such as butyl tape can be used for repair, which has characteristics such as aging resistance, high and low-temperature resistance, and strong adhesion, making it suitable for emergency leakage stopping.
Daily Maintenance Recommendations
Regularly inspect the fasteners, waterproof layer, and drainage system on the roof, avoiding stepping on the roof; choose reliable waterproof materials and have them installed by a professional team; promptly inspect for potential hazards after extreme weather to extend the service life of the house.
