Container House Roof Cooling Solution

Admin 16 de septiembre de 2026

Cooling of container house roofs can be achieved through methods such as reflective heat insulation, adding insulation layers, ventilation optimization, spray cooling, and roof greening. The specific solutions are as follows:

1. Reflective Heat-Insulating Coatings
Apply reflective heat-insulating coatings on the roof of the container house. The silver-white coating reflects infrared radiation from sunlight, reducing heat absorption. This solution is cost-effective and simple to implement, suitable for scenarios with limited budgets and a need for rapid cooling. During construction, first repair any roof cracks and ensure the waterproof layer is intact. After drying, roll on the coating 2-3 times. The surface temperature can drop by 10-15°C, and the indoor temperature can decrease by 3-5°C.

2. Increasing Insulation Layer Thickness
When constructing a container house, materials such as polystyrene foam or rock wool can be used to increase the thickness of the insulation layer. Polystyrene foam, when processed into composite panels, offers significant thermal insulation effects; rock wool combines fire resistance with thermal insulation properties. The insulation layer can block heat conduction, delaying indoor temperature rise, making it suitable for long-term living scenarios.

3. Ventilation Optimization
Install electric exhaust fans or negative pressure fans on the roof, paired with bottom air inlets to create air convection and accelerate heat dissipation. Set up one group of exhaust fans every 20 meters, achieving 30-50 air exchanges per hour, with power consumption only 1/10 that of air conditioning. Natural ventilation modifications should consider the length-to-width ratio of the factory building, with reasonable placement of side windows and roof vents.

4. Spray Cooling System
Install micro-spray belts or spray devices on the roof, utilizing the principle of water mist evaporation to absorb heat for cooling. Control water mist particles within 50-100 microns for even coverage without water accumulation, reducing surrounding air temperature by 5-8°C. High-pressure micro-mist equipment costs about 30 yuan per square meter and can be operated intermittently during high-temperature periods with a timer, saving water and being highly efficient.

5. Roof Greening
Lay shallow-rooted vegetation such as Crassulaceae succulents on the roof, with a substrate thickness of only 5 cm and a load less than 60 kg/m². Plants absorb heat through photosynthesis while evaporating water to carry away heat, offering significant cooling effects and aesthetic appeal. Ensure the roof waterproof layer is intact to avoid water leakage risks.

Implementation Recommendations: Prioritize checking the roof waterproof layer, following the principle of 'waterproofing before thermal insulation'; choose a single or combined solution based on budget and needs, such as reflective coatings + ventilation optimization; regularly maintain equipment to ensure lasting cooling effects.
