Container House Roof Beam Drainage

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

The drainage of container house roof beams is mainly achieved through the built-in drainage channels on the roof beams, concealed drainage pipes, and the reasonable design of gutters and outlets. The specific drainage methods and key points are as follows:

Built-in Drainage Channels on the Roof Beams

Most container houses have roof beams made of hot-dip galvanized steel sheets that are rolled into shape. The built-in drainage channels on the roof beams are a guarantee of the house's sturdiness and one of the core structures of the drainage system. The drainage channels run longitudinally along the roof beams, guiding rainwater from the roof to both sides of the house or specific drainage areas, preventing rainwater from accumulating or scattering randomly on the roof. This design not only improves the drainage efficiency of the house but also makes the house's appearance neater and more aesthetically pleasing, giving a sense of sturdiness and safety.

Concealed Drainage Pipes

Some high-end container houses are equipped with dedicated drainage pipes concealed within the four columns. This design effectively reduces the risk of water leakage in the house. Compared to the way ordinary container houses allow water to scatter from the top perimeter, concealed drainage pipes can discharge rainwater in a more orderly manner, reducing the impact of rainwater on the house's walls and ground, lowering the likelihood of water leakage, and improving the overall waterproof performance of the house.

Gutter and Outlet Design

Gutters are an important part of the drainage system of container houses. They need to be set with a certain slope horizontally to ensure that rainwater can flow smoothly to the outlets. At the same time, the design of the outlets should be reasonable to ensure that accumulated water in the gutters can be promptly discharged during heavy rain, preventing the water from flowing back into the inner eaves of the gutters. In addition, during construction, attention should be paid to the anti-corrosion treatment of the gutters to prevent them from rusting and eroding or being blocked by debris at the outlets, which could lead to water leakage or backflow.

Other Drainage Precautions

During the use of container houses, it is also necessary to avoid stepping on the roof to prevent fasteners from loosening or the waterproof pad from aging, which could lead to water leakage problems. At the same time, when opening holes in the activity house panels to install various fans, exhaust pipes, etc., proper waterproof treatment should be carried out around the cracks to prevent the house panels from deforming due to external conditions, wind loads, snow loads, thermal expansion and contraction, etc., which could damage the original waterproof treatment and cause water leakage.
