Production Process of Container House Ridge

Admin 17 de septiembre de 2026

The production process of the container house ridge can refer to the construction points of the ridge nodes in steel structure roofs, as detailed below:

I. Core Structure and Key Functions The core structure of the container house ridge includes roof metal panels, ridge caps, ridge plugs, reinforcing back panels, and sliding supports. Among them, the ridge caps are used to cover the seams of the roof panels to prevent rainwater infiltration; the ridge plugs seal the ends of the ridge to prevent rainwater backflow; the sliding supports solve the problem of temperature deformation through a slidable design, preventing panel tearing due to thermal expansion and contraction; the reinforcing back panels fix the outer metal ridge plugs through local support, preventing deformation or water backflow at the ridge due to insufficient support.

II. Construction Points

  1. Reinforcing Back Panel Installation The ridge reinforcing back panel must be fixed to the outer metal ridge plug. It is strictly prohibited to nail it directly to the roof purlins, as this would damage the overall load-bearing structure of the roof. Its function is to enhance the local stiffness of the ridge and prevent deformation due to concentrated loads.

  2. Spacing Control of Roof Panels The roof panels on both sides of the ridge need to have a pre-calculated spacing reserved to accommodate expansion and contraction caused by temperature changes. Insufficient spacing may lead to panel extrusion and deformation, while excessive spacing may affect sealing performance.

  3. Construction Process Install the roof purlins → sliding supports → roof metal panels → ridge reinforcing back panels → outer metal ridge plugs → ridge caps in sequence. The sliding supports must be fixed to the purlins in advance to ensure that the roof panels can slide freely; the outer metal ridge plugs should be wrapped with butyl tape before installation, and the fixing nails should face outwards to prevent water leakage through the nail holes.

  4. Sealing and Fixing Details

    • When fixing the ridge cap to the outer metal plug, the overlapping area should be 250mm in length, with one layer of hidden adhesive and one layer of visible adhesive applied, and connected using rivets or stitching nails.
    • The joint between the ridge plug and the roof panel should be sealed with adhesive, and the overlapping length of the cap should be no less than 150mm to prevent rainwater backflow.
    • The fixing nails for the outer metal ridge plugs should face outwards to prevent the nail holes from becoming channels for water leakage.

III. Precautions Construction must strictly adhere to calculated parameters (such as panel spacing and overlapping length) and prioritize the use of weather-resistant materials (such as butyl tape and stainless steel rivets). If the container house is located in an extreme climate zone, the flexibility of the sliding supports should be increased or the spacing between the roof panels adjusted to cope with greater temperature-induced deformation.
