Container House Refit into Office

Admin 17 de septiembre de 2026

Container houses can be refitted into offices, and the specific refitting methods are as follows:

I. Foundation Stabilization and Thermal Insulation Treatment As a temporary building, a container needs to have its bottom structure fixed with wood and jacks first to ensure overall stability. Internal wall thermal insulation is a crucial step. Custom-made foam boards (with reserved groove designs) should be pasted. After applying special glue, they should be spliced layer by layer to achieve seamless coverage. The thickness of the foam boards should be selected according to the local climate. For example, in cold regions, the thickness can be increased to more than 5 centimeters to enhance thermal insulation performance.

II. Door Frame and Sound Insulation System Construction The door frame should be cut from wooden boards and fixed with bolts, and space should be reserved for the sliding door track. Sound insulation treatment requires two steps:

  1. Install wooden sound insulation boards on the outer layer of the foam boards. When cutting, ensure that the gaps are ≤ 2 millimeters. If it is difficult to install the top partition, a hydraulic lifting platform can be used for assistance.
  2. Apply white latex along all the spliced gaps, seal them with special sound insulation tape, and sand the surface with 400-grit fine sandpaper after they are completely dry for 24 hours.

III. Ventilation and Functional Area Planning The ventilation system requires cutting a 15cm × 15cm square opening on the side of the container and installing an industrial-grade exhaust fan (with an air volume of ≥ 300m³/h). Suggestions for functional area division:

  1. Use waterproof paint to divide color blocks at a height of 1.2 meters on the wall. Paint the upper part with light gray latex paint and the lower part with dark gray latex paint.
  2. When installing the workbench, first fix the L-shaped support brackets, add adjustable brackets in the middle (with an adjustment range of 60 - 90cm), and it is recommended to use fire-resistant board for the tabletop.

IV. Electrical and Safety Configurations

  1. The circuit system should be laid with PVC flame-retardant wire conduits. LED panel lights (with a power of 18 - 24W) should be used for lighting, and the air conditioner should be separately equipped with 4-square-millimeter copper core wires.
  2. After the water and electricity installation is completed, an anti-static workbench should be set up in the work area, and tools should be placed following the principle of "in from the left, out from the right".
  3. For a low-cost solution, discarded containers (with a market price of about 800 - 1500 yuan) can be selected. They should be raised 30cm with concrete stumps for moisture prevention, and double-layer gypsum boards should be installed on the top to enhance fire resistance.

V. Detail Optimization and Acceptance Standards

  1. The frame of the glass sliding door should be made of aluminum alloy, and the load-bearing capacity of the pulley set should be ≥ 100kg.
  2. The cutting error of all materials should be controlled within ±1mm, and the spliced parts should be treated with filler and then sanded smooth.
  3. After completion, a 48-hour airtight test should be carried out to check the exhaust fan's air exchange efficiency (≥ 5 times per hour) and the sound insulation effect (indoor noise ≤ 45 decibels).
