Rain Curtain for Container Houses

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

The rain curtain for container houses generally refers to a retractable curtain installed at the door frame or window to block rainwater from entering the interior, with its core functions being rain protection and enhancing usability. The following provides an explanation from the perspectives of structure, functions, and application scenarios:

Structure and Working Principle

The rain curtain for container houses is typically composed of a curtain body, a driving device, and a fixed frame. Taking a certain patented design as an example, a fixed sleeve is installed at the top of the back of the door frame panel, housing a motor and a worm gear. The worm gear meshes with an L-shaped rod. When the motor starts, the worm gear drives the worm to rotate, which in turn drives the L-shaped rod to rotate, causing the rain curtain panel to move forward and cover the front of the door frame, forming a physical barrier against rainwater. Some designs adopt a manual retractable structure, using slide rails or spring devices to extend and retract the curtain body, which is easy to operate and takes up little space.

Core Functions

  1. Rain Protection Performance: The rain curtain can effectively prevent rainwater from seeping into the interior through gaps in the door frame or window, avoiding damage to goods inside the container or deterioration of the living environment. Especially in rainy regions or maritime transportation scenarios, the rain curtain can significantly reduce the risk of 'container rain'—that is, the problem of water vapor condensation and dripping inside the container due to temperature differences between day and night, causing damage to goods.
  2. Balancing Ventilation and Lighting: Some rain curtain designs use semi-transparent materials (such as PVC or polyester fiber), allowing natural light to penetrate while blocking rainwater, balancing indoor brightness and rain protection needs. Additionally, the retractable structure can be extended for rain protection on rainy days and retracted for ventilation on sunny days, flexibly adapting to different weather conditions.
  3. Protecting the Door Frame and Extending Lifespan: The rain curtain can reduce the direct impact of rainwater on the metal structure of the door frame, lowering the risk of rust and thus extending the lifespan of the container house.

Application Scenarios

  1. Mobile Houses and Temporary Buildings: In scenarios such as construction site dormitories and wild research stations, the rain curtain can be quickly installed on the door frame of the container, providing a temporary rain protection solution.
  2. Cultural Tourism and Commercial Spaces: In container-transformed shops, cafes, and other places, the rain curtain can keep the interior dry while attracting customers with its transparent design, without affecting the outdoor view.
  3. Logistics and Transportation: During container transportation, the rain curtain can serve as an auxiliary moisture-proof measure, used in conjunction with desiccants and moisture-proof coatings to further reduce the risk of goods getting damp.
