What are the Parameters of Container Houses
Admin 16 de septiembre de 2026
The main parameters of container houses include dimensions, structural materials, performance characteristics, and customization options.

I. Dimensions
Container houses are based on standard container sizes, with common specifications including:
- 20-foot Standard Container (20GP): External dimensions are 6058×2438×2591mm, with an internal net size of approximately 5867×2330×2350mm, suitable for single-person offices, dormitories, or shops.
- 40-foot Standard Container (40GP): External dimensions are 12192×2438×2591mm, with an internal net size of approximately 11998×2330×2350mm, which can be divided into multi-functional spaces or multi-person dormitories.
- 40-foot High Cube Container (40HQ): The external height is increased to 2896mm, with an internal net height of 2655mm, suitable for exhibition halls or housing with height requirements.
In addition, non-standard custom dimensions are flexible, with adjustable length, width, and height, such as lengths of 3m, 6m, 7m, widths from 2.5m to 4m, heights from 2.6m to 2.9m, and even combinations like 3m×6m, 3m×8m, etc., to meet special scenario needs.
II. Structural Materials
- Walls: Typically made of rock wool or polyurethane sandwich panels, covered with fireproof steel plates, with a thickness of 50mm to 75mm, providing sound insulation, thermal insulation, and fire resistance (fire rating A).
- Frame: Columns and beams are made of 80×80×1.5mm square steel, and the base is welded with 14-gauge channel steel to ensure structural stability.
- Roof and Floor: The roof is made of polystyrene sandwich fireproof color steel plates, and the floor is made of fireproof and waterproof PVC material. Some high-end models use orange peel-textured wall panels or galvanized color steel plates.
- Doors and Windows: Standard configuration includes one security door and two windows, with pre-installed power outlets, lighting fixtures, and other infrastructure.
III. Performance Characteristics
- Load-bearing and Compression Resistance: Standard containers have strong load-bearing capacity, with a 20-foot container capable of bearing 25 tons. The overall structure has excellent compression resistance, suitable for multi-layer stacking or complex environments.
- Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency: Materials are recyclable, with a short construction period, reducing construction waste; some models integrate solar power systems to improve energy efficiency.
- Adaptability and Expandability: Through modular combinations, large buildings such as schools, hospitals, or temporary camps can be quickly constructed, and additional structures like corridors and balconies can be added.
- Durability: The design life is usually up to 30 years, with a roof waterproof life of more than 15 years and low maintenance costs.
IV. Customization Options
In addition to dimension adjustments, container houses support personalized customization of appearance colors, door and window positions, internal partitions, and decoration styles, such as painting, adding insulation layers, or smart management systems, to adapt to different climates and functional needs.
