Container House Odor Removal

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

Odor removal in container houses can be achieved through methods such as opening windows for ventilation, using adsorbent materials, chemical neutralization, plant purification, professional odor removal products, and deep cleaning.

  1. Opening Windows for Ventilation
Opening windows to create air convection is the most direct physical method for odor removal, especially suitable for newly renovated container houses or those with panel odors. Ventilate at least twice a day, for more than 30 minutes each time, to accelerate the diffusion of volatile substances (such as formaldehyde). For enclosed spaces, electric fans can be used to enhance air circulation, but care should be taken to avoid catching a cold in winter.

  2. Using Adsorbent Materials

    • Activated Carbon/Bamboo Charcoal Bags: Their porous structures can efficiently adsorb odor molecules such as formaldehyde and benzene. Place 500 grams per 10 square meters, focusing on enclosed spaces like closets and drawers. They need to be exposed to the sun for 4-6 hours every month to restore their adsorption capacity and avoid secondary release after saturation.
    • Coffee Grounds/Tea Leaves: These natural materials can temporarily adsorb odors. For example, dry coffee grounds can be placed in a gauze bag and hung inside a closet, suitable for masking musty odors. Replace them weekly.
  3. Chemical Neutralization

    • White Vinegar Solution: Acetic acid can neutralize alkaline odors (such as ammonia). Spray it on the surface of the pollution source in a 1:10 ratio and wipe it off after letting it sit for 15 minutes.
    • Baking Soda Solution: It decomposes acidic odors (such as food residue odors). Sprinkle the powder at the bottom of a cabinet and let it sit overnight, or mix it into a paste to wipe moldy areas.
  4. Plant Purification
Plants like snake plants and pothos absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen through photosynthesis while degrading benzene-based harmful substances. Place one 30-centimeter-tall plant every 5 square meters and regularly wipe the leaves to avoid dust accumulation affecting the purification efficiency.

  5. Professional Odor Removal Products

    • Activated Manganese Decomposition Sheets: They use catalytic oxidation technology to decompose formaldehyde into water and carbon dioxide, suitable for enclosed spaces with concentrated panels (such as closets and bookcases).
    • Photocatalyst Sprays: They require ultraviolet light exposure to decompose chemical odors such as formaldehyde.
  6. Deep Cleaning
Thoroughly clean hidden dirt (such as air conditioner filters and deep carpet layers). Use a steam cleaner for high-temperature sterilization and odor removal, or soak stubborn oil stains with an oxygen-based bleach.
