What Materials Are Used in Container Houses

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

Container houses primarily use materials such as steel, aluminum alloy, glass, plastic, and sandwich panels, as detailed below:

Steel: It is the core structural material for container houses, including channel steel, angle steel, and steel plates. These steels possess high strength and corrosion resistance, enabling them to withstand significant loads and ensure the structural safety and stability of the house under various environmental conditions. For example, in the renovation of standard containers, the steel frame forms the basic support system of the house, capable of withstanding wind and earthquakes of certain intensities.

Aluminum Alloy: Often used for making doors and windows, aluminum alloy offers advantages such as lightness, aesthetics, and corrosion resistance. Its excellent thermal insulation properties effectively reduce heat exchange between indoors and outdoors, enhancing the living comfort of the house and reducing energy consumption.

Glass: Mainly used for doors, windows, and observation windows, glass features high transparency, good reflectivity, and corrosion resistance. It increases the natural lighting of the house, making the interior brighter and more transparent, while providing a good view to meet the occupants' desire to appreciate natural landscapes.

Plastic: Widely applied in container houses, such as plastic pipes and plates, plastic materials offer advantages like lightness, ease of processing, and affordability. They can be used for laying water and electricity pipelines, interior decoration, etc., meeting various functional requirements.

Sandwich Panels: Common types include rock wool sandwich panels, glass wool sandwich panels, and polyurethane sandwich panels, mostly used for walls and roofs. Sandwich panels are composed of two layers of metal sheets with an intermediate core material, combining thermal insulation and fire resistance functions. They effectively block heat transfer, reduce the risk of fire, and provide a safe and comfortable living environment for occupants.
