Container House Makes Knocking Sound

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

The knocking sound from a container house may be caused by thermal expansion and contraction, installation issues, or environmental factors. It can be resolved by checking the installation, improving the environment, setting expansion joints, etc.

Possible Causes

  • Thermal Expansion and Contraction: The materials of a container house, such as steel structures and color-coated steel plates, will deform with temperature changes. When the temperature rises, the materials expand; when the temperature drops, the materials contract. This repeated deformation may cause the connection parts to loosen or generate stress, resulting in a knocking sound.
  • Installation Issues: If the container house is not properly fixed during installation, such as an uneven foundation or loose connecting bolts, it may produce abnormal sounds when subjected to external forces, such as wind or vibration.
  • Environmental Factors: The surrounding environment of the house may also cause abnormal sounds. For example, machine vibrations from nearby factories or vibrations from traffic vehicles. If the frequency is close to the natural frequency of the container house, resonance may occur, producing a knocking sound.

Solutions

  • Check the Installation: Carefully inspect whether the installation of the container house is secure, including whether the foundation is level and whether the connecting bolts are tightened. If any problems are found, make adjustments and reinforcements in a timely manner.
  • Improve the Environmental Conditions: Try to reduce factors around the house that may cause vibrations. If the vibrations are caused by nearby factories or traffic vehicles, negotiate with the relevant departments for solutions.
  • Set Expansion Joints: For abnormal sounds caused by thermal expansion and contraction, expansion joints can be set on the walls, roofs, and other parts of the container house to release stress and reduce the sound generated by deformation.
  • Add Soundproofing Measures: Adding soundproofing materials inside the container house, such as soundproof cotton and soundproof boards, can effectively reduce the propagation of external noise and the sound generated by deformation inside the house.
