Container House Maintenance

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

The maintenance of container houses requires a comprehensive approach covering external protection, internal maintenance, structural safety, component maintenance, and usage environment management to extend their service life.

External Protection

The main body of a container house is made of steel, and rust prevention is the core maintenance point. Regularly inspect the external coating, use high-quality anti-rust paint and thermal insulation coating, and reapply every 1-2 years to prevent rust from spreading. Avoid obstacles during transportation or installation to prevent scratches that could damage the coating. If the container is exposed to a humid environment (such as coastal areas) for an extended period, shorten the inspection cycle and strengthen waterproof sealing treatment.

Internal Maintenance

Pipes, electrical systems, and thermal insulation facilities require regular inspection and updates. For example, wires should be installed through conduits or wire trays to avoid direct binding to the steel structure; commonly used power outlets should be insulated to prevent electric leakage. Maintain indoor ventilation and dryness to avoid condensation that could cause internal rust. If the floor load exceeds the design value, conduct a structural safety assessment.

Structural Safety

Unauthorized changes to the layout or function are strictly prohibited. The design of the container house must strictly follow the original drawings. If modifications (such as adding partitions) are required, consult the supplier and assess structural safety. When the prefabricated house exceeds its designed service life, conduct a comprehensive inspection of the house structure and enclosure performance before continuing to use it. Additionally, avoid using high-power appliances (such as induction cookers) to prevent circuit overload and potential safety hazards.

Component Maintenance

Component maintenance must comply with standards: Weld seams on load-bearing frames must not be cracked; severely rusted areas should be derusted and rewelded; after repairing movable joints, apply anti-rust oil; replace broken or damaged doors, windows, and accessories promptly; repair or replace bent or deformed panels. For example, regularly tighten the screws in light steel structures to prevent loosening.

Usage Environment Management

The environment significantly impacts the lifespan. Container houses are resistant to dry conditions but not to humidity; humid environments accelerate rust and shorten the service life, while dry environments (such as deserts) may extend it. When not in use, provide shade and rain protection to avoid direct sunlight and rain erosion; establish emergency plans during use, such as typhoon and flood prevention measures, and conduct comprehensive inspections and reinforcements before rain or snow.
