Container House Light Bulb Wiring
Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026
Wiring light bulbs in container houses requires adherence to safety regulations and basic circuit principles, with core steps including material preparation, circuit planning, wiring operations, and safety testing. Here are the specific details:

Material and Tool Preparation
Prepare wires that meet safety standards (usually copper wires, with cross-sectional areas selected based on power, such as 1.5 square millimeters for general lighting), light bulbs and lamp holders (matching the reserved interfaces in the container house), switches, insulating tape, electrician's knives, screwdrivers, and other tools. The wires should have flame-retardant properties, and the lamp holders and switches should be certified by 3C to ensure electrical safety.
Circuit Planning and Wiring
- Determine the power source location: Container houses usually have reserved power interfaces (such as distribution boxes), from which the main line should be drawn. If the house has no pre-installed wiring, a professional electrician should connect it to an external power source and install a leakage protection device.
- Plan branch circuits: Design branch circuits based on the positions of the light bulbs to avoid voltage drops due to excessively long lines. General lighting circuits can connect multiple light bulbs in series (no more than 5), but ensure that the total power does not exceed the carrying capacity of the circuit (for example, a 1.5 square millimeter copper wire can carry about 3300 watts).
- Wiring method: Fix the wires along corners or in dedicated wire channels to avoid exposure or entanglement with metal structures. High-voltage (lighting) and low-voltage (such as socket) circuits should be wired separately, with a minimum spacing of 30 centimeters to reduce interference.
Wiring Operation Steps
- Connect the power source to the switch: Connect the live wire (usually red or brown) to the incoming terminal of the switch and the neutral wire (blue or black) directly to the neutral terminal of the lamp holder. The switch should control the live wire to prevent the lamp holder from remaining live after power-off.
- Install the lamp holder and light bulb: Fix the lamp holder in the reserved position, connect the live wire from the outgoing terminal of the switch to the live terminal of the lamp holder, and connect the neutral wire to the neutral terminal of the lamp holder. Wrap the connection terminals with insulating tape to prevent short circuits.
- Grounding protection: If the container house has a metal structure, connect the metal shell of the lamp holder to the house's grounding system (such as a dedicated grounding wire or metal frame) to prevent electric shock accidents caused by leakage.
Safety Testing and Usage
- Power-on test: After wiring is completed, turn off all switches, then close the main switch of the distribution box, and turn on each switch one by one to test if the light bulbs light up normally.
- Insulation test: Use a megohmmeter to test the insulation resistance of the circuit. The resistance value should be no less than 0.5 megohms to ensure there is no risk of leakage.
- Daily maintenance: Regularly check for aging or loose wires, avoid overloading with high-power appliances (such as electric heaters), to extend the service life of the circuit and ensure safety.
