Container House Installation Ground

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

Container house installation has requirements for the ground, but different types of container houses have varying foundation requirements, with overall requirements being relatively flexible. Details are as follows:

I. Foundation Requirements for Different Types of Container Houses

  1. Foldable Container Houses and Fixed Residential Container Houses: These have relatively low foundation requirements. Simply leveling the ground allows for direct placement and use. If conditions permit, pouring a cement floor and setting up drainage ditches can enhance living comfort.
  2. Packing-Box Container Houses: The foundation requirements are simple. Strip or蹲型 (this term might need further clarification in a real-world context, here we assume it's a specific type of foundation and keep it as is for translation accuracy) foundations can be used, and in some cases, no dedicated foundation is needed; they can be placed directly on the ground.
  3. Residential Portable Panel Houses: These have higher foundation requirements. A certain area of concrete foundation needs to be poured, and the house is fixed to the foundation using expansion bolts. During demolition, the first-floor concrete foundation usually cannot be reused.

II. General Ground Requirements for Container House Installation

  1. Flatness: The ground needs to be basically flat to prevent structural deformation of the container house due to an uneven foundation. If the ground flatness is insufficient, leveling needs to be carried out using a bedding course or by adjusting the support feet of the container house.
  2. Drainage Design: Container houses are made of iron structures, so proper drainage work is necessary to prevent moisture damage. It is recommended to install container houses in slightly elevated areas and dig drainage ditches around the container bodies. During the rainy season, a gable-shaped canopy can be added on top to facilitate rainwater drainage.
  3. Load-Bearing Capacity: The ground needs to have sufficient load-bearing capacity to support the weight of the container house and its internal facilities. For standard 20-foot containers (with a load-bearing capacity of about 25 tons) or 40-foot containers (with a load-bearing capacity of about 45 tons), it is necessary to ensure that the ground structural strength meets the requirements.

III. Ground Treatment in Special Scenarios

If container houses are placed on non-traditional building sites such as rooftops or farmland, hardening the ground or building permanent foundations should be avoided, as this may be considered unauthorized construction. In such scenarios, container houses are usually used only as temporary containers for storing agricultural supplies and tools, and traditional foundation construction is not required.
