Glass Glue for Container Houses
Glass glue for container houses is primarily used to repair light leaks or seal gaps, requiring the selection of an appropriate glue type based on the specific scenario and standardized construction.

Application of Glass Glue in Repairing Light Leaks in Container Houses
Glass glue is a commonly used material for repairing light leaks in container houses, but its applicability is limited. It can only achieve a sealing effect by filling gaps when light leaks are caused by paint damage and are of a low degree; if light leaks are caused by damage to the material itself (such as metal plate perforation or deformation), glass glue cannot repair them, and materials need to be replaced or physical methods such as welding need to be used.
When repairing, it is necessary to select glass glue with strong weather resistance, high-temperature resistance, UV resistance, and high viscosity to ensure long-term stability. Before construction, the repair area must be thoroughly cleaned to remove oil, dust, and rust, and the surface must be kept dry; otherwise, it will affect the adhesion between the glue and the substrate.
Selection of Glue Types for Sealing Gaps in Container Houses
Based on gap characteristics (static/dynamic, long-term/temporary) and requirements, the following sealants can be selected:
- Butyl Sealant: It has extremely strong weather resistance, is suitable for long-term outdoor environments, can adhere to various materials such as metal, glass, and concrete, has a wide temperature adaptation range (-40°C to 120°C), and has a service life of up to 20 years, making it suitable for long-term waterproof sealing of container houses.
- Neoprene Sealant: It cures quickly, and some models can be painted over to meet aesthetic needs, making it suitable for emergency repairs or temporary sealing scenarios.
- MS Sealant: It has excellent elasticity and can stretch up to four times its original length, adapting to the shaking or dynamic gaps of container houses, making it suitable for sealing connections between moving parts.
Construction Precautions
- Curing Time: All glues require 24 hours to cure, during which time the sealed area should not be touched or moved; otherwise, the seal may fail.
- Purpose Matching: Butyl glue is used for long-term waterproofing, neoprene glue for temporary leak repairs, and MS glue for dynamic gaps. Selection should be based on the scenario to avoid misuse.
- Environmental Requirements: The construction environment temperature should be between 5°C and 35°C, with humidity below 85%, to ensure glue performance.
- Safety Protection: Some glues contain organic solvents, so gloves and masks should be worn during construction to avoid skin contact or inhalation of fumes.
By reasonably selecting the glue type and standardizing construction, light leaks and sealing problems in container houses can be effectively solved, extending the service life of the houses.
