General Sizes of Container Houses
Admin 17 de septiembre de 2026
The sizes of container houses vary depending on their type and purpose, with common specifications covering a range of options from compact to large. Here are the specific classifications and design considerations:

I. Common Sizes Based on International Standard Containers
The size design of international standard containers must meet the requirements of the global logistics system for easy transportation and stacking.
- 20-foot Container Panel House: The external dimensions are approximately 6.058 meters (length) × 2.438 meters (width) × 2.591 meters (height). The internal space is compact, suitable for single-person living or small office scenarios.
- 40-foot Container Panel House: The external dimensions are approximately 12.192 meters (length) × 2.438 meters (width) × 2.591 meters (height). The internal space is doubled, accommodating multiple people for living or serving as a multifunctional office area.
- 40-foot High Cube Container Panel House: The external height is increased to 2.896 meters, with an internal clear height of about 2.7 meters. By increasing vertical space, living comfort is optimized, suitable for scenarios requiring higher ceiling heights.
II. Other Common Non-standard Sizes
To meet specific needs, the size design of container houses is more flexible:
- 10-foot Container Panel House: The external dimensions are approximately 3.048 meters (length) × 2.438 meters (width) × 2.591 meters (height), suitable for space-constrained or budget-limited occasions, such as temporary guardhouses or small warehouses.
- 30-foot Container Panel House: The external dimensions are approximately 9.144 meters (length) × 2.438 meters (width) × 2.591 meters (height), providing a more flexible space combination between 20-foot and 40-foot options, suitable for medium-scale office or living needs.
- Common Standard Single Unit on Construction Sites: With a length of 6 meters, width of 3 meters, and height of 2.7-2.8 meters, covering an area of about 18 square meters, it is the mainstream choice for temporary housing on construction sites, balancing transportation convenience and space practicality.
- Small Container House: With dimensions of 3 meters × 3 meters and an area of about 9 square meters, it is commonly used for small functional spaces such as guardhouses and tool rooms.
- Large Container House: With dimensions of 7 meters × 3 meters, it is often used for two-story拼接 (connected) houses or office areas with corridors, achieving space expansion through modular combinations.
III. Design Considerations for Sizes
- Logistics Standard Adaptability: Container houses must comply with international transportation standards to ensure efficient transportation via trucks, ships, and other means.
- Usage Scenario Requirements: For living spaces, ventilation, lighting, and furniture layout need to be considered; for office environments, space for equipment installation and personnel activities should be reserved.
- Cost Control: Size is directly related to material costs. Oversized dimensions increase steel usage and transportation difficulty, requiring a balance between functionality and economy.
