Feng Shui Considerations for Container Houses
Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026
When it comes to feng shui for container houses, attention should be paid to site selection, layout, ventilation and lighting, structural stability, and decorative details to create a harmonious atmosphere.

Site Selection and Environment
- Terrain and Orientation: When choosing a site for a container house, avoid low-lying and damp areas to prevent the accumulation of 'yin energy', which can affect the health of the occupants. It is advisable to select a location with higher terrain, dryness, and good ventilation, in line with the feng shui principle of 'storing wind and gathering qi'. Additionally, according to traditional feng shui theory, a house facing south with its back to the north is ideal, as it can make full use of natural light and enhance the yang energy inside the house.
- Surrounding Environment: Stay away from polluted areas such as garbage dumps and sewage ditches to prevent the intrusion of 'sha qi'. If the house is close to a road, avoid having the road directly facing the entrance to reduce the damage to the qi field caused by 'road rush sha'.
Interior Layout
- Functional Zoning: The interior space of a container is limited, so it is necessary to plan living areas reasonably. For example, the bedroom should be located in an 'auspicious position' of the house (such as the southeast), and the kitchen and bathroom should be set up independently to avoid the clash of 'water and fire'. If space permits, a small living room or study can be set up to enhance family interaction and cultural atmosphere.
- Door and Window Positions: Doors and windows are the qi inlets and outlets. Avoid having them directly opposite each other to prevent the formation of 'through-hall sha'. This can be achieved by adjusting the orientation of doors and windows or adding partitions such as screens or green plants to guide the slow flow of air and form a pattern of'storing wind and gathering qi'.
Ventilation and Lighting
- Natural Ventilation: Container houses have strong sealing properties. It is necessary to ensure air circulation by reasonably designing the positions of doors and windows or adding ventilation openings to prevent the accumulation of 'stagnant qi'. Good ventilation can improve living comfort and is in line with the feng shui concept of 'smooth qi leads to smooth fortune'.
- Sufficient Lighting: Natural light is an important source of yang energy. Sunlight should be introduced through large windows or skylights, especially ensuring adequate lighting in core areas such as the bedroom and kitchen. If natural light is insufficient, it can be supplemented with artificial lighting, but avoid overly strong or dim light to maintain the balance of yin and yang.
Structure and Materials
- Structural Stability: Regularly inspect the welding points, anti-corrosion layers, and interface water tightness of container houses to prevent 'qi field disturbance' caused by structural looseness. A stable structure can enhance the sense of security of the occupants and is in line with the feng shui principle of 'a stable foundation leads to a safe home'.
- Material Selection: For interior decoration, it is advisable to use environmentally friendly materials to avoid the pollution of the qi field by harmful substances such as formaldehyde. At the same time, natural materials such as wooden furniture and cotton and linen fabrics can be used to add a warm feeling and balance the industrial sense of the container.
Decoration and Details
- Color Matching: The interior colors should mainly be warm tones, such as beige and light wood colors, to create a warm atmosphere. Avoid using too much black or red to prevent an 'overly aggressive qi field'.
- Green Plants and Ornaments: Enhance vitality and fortune by placing green plants (such as money trees and pothos) or feng shui ornaments (such as pixiu and crystals). However, avoid piling up too much clutter and keep the space tidy to maintain a smooth qi field.
