Container House Exhaust Fan Switch
Admin 17 de septiembre de 2026
There are various types of switches for exhaust fans in container houses, and their positions and wiring methods need to be determined according to the specific type. Here is a detailed explanation:

I. Common Switch Types and Positions
- Piano/Button Switches: Usually integrated on the panel or side of the exhaust fan body. They are used to turn the fan on/off and adjust the air speed by pressing. These switches are intuitive to operate and suitable for scenarios that require frequent adjustments.
- Pull-cord Switches: Commonly found in humid environments (such as bathrooms). The switch body is installed on the ceiling or wall near the exhaust fan and is operated by pulling a cord. Its advantage lies in avoiding direct contact with the switch, reducing the risk of electric shock.
- Knob Switches: Located on the exhaust fan body, they are used to adjust the air speed gears by rotating. These switches have a simple structure but relatively single functions, usually only supporting air speed adjustment.
- Remote Control Switches: Controlled by an independent infrared remote control, and some mid-to-high-end models support this function. Remote control switches enable remote operation and are suitable for scenarios where the installation position is high or difficult to reach.
II. Wiring Method for Dual-control Switches
If you need to achieve dual-control functionality (such as controlling the same exhaust fan with two switches), follow these steps:
- Identify Terminals: The terminal marked 'L' on the switch is the live wire connection terminal, and 'L1' and 'L2' are the control wire terminals.
- Connect the Live Wire: Connect the power live wire (red or brown) to the 'L' terminal of the first switch.
- Cross-connect the Control Wires: Use wires to connect the 'L1' and 'L2' terminals of the two switches respectively.
- Connect the Exhaust Fan: Connect the 'L' terminal of the second switch to the live wire of the exhaust fan, and connect the neutral wire (blue) directly to the power neutral wire.
Precautions:
- The wire colors must be strictly distinguished (live wire: red/brown, neutral wire: blue, ground wire: yellow-green) to avoid incorrect connections.
- After wiring is completed, wrap the exposed wires with insulating tape to prevent short circuits.
- Before the first power-on, check that the wiring is secure to ensure there is no looseness or poor contact.
III. Troubleshooting and Safety Tips
- Exhaust Fan Not Working: First, check if the switch is turned on, and then check if the wires are poorly connected or broken.
- Switch Overheating: It may be due to excessive load or incorrect wiring. Disconnect the power immediately for inspection to avoid causing a fire.
- Recommended Products: Models such as the Schneider Changi White Four-position Rocker-type Dual-control Switch and the Dongfang Langli Light-touch Large-panel Dual-control Switch are suitable for dual-control scenarios of exhaust fans and can be selected according to needs.
