Container House Edge Trim

Admin 16 de septiembre de 2026

Container house edge trims are key components used for edge decoration, sealing, and structural connection in container houses, primarily serving functions such as waterproofing, wind resistance, panel fixation, and enhancing aesthetics.

I. Types and Functions of Edge Trims

  1. Corner and Connection Pieces

    • Specialized corner pieces (e.g., L-shaped and T-shaped corners) are required at the corners of container houses to secure adjacent panels and ensure structural stability. For example, the corners of foldable container houses need corner pieces to connect side panels with roof panels, preventing deformation.
    • When stacking containers vertically, corner pieces work with twist locks to achieve vertical fixation, while edge trims cover the connection gaps to prevent rainwater infiltration.
  2. Sealing Strips and Pressure Bars

    • Rubber sealing strips are installed at the joints between side panels, roof panels, and frames, and are fixed with pressure bars (e.g., U-shaped and J-shaped bars) to form a waterproof barrier. For example, EPDM sealing strips are commonly used around doors and windows of residential containers, paired with aluminum alloy pressure bars to withstand strong winds and heavy rain.
    • Flexible sealing strips are required at the folding points of foldable container houses to maintain sealing performance after repeated opening and closing.
  3. Decorative Edge Trims

    • Exposed frame edges (e.g., C-shaped steel columns) need aluminum alloy or PVC decorative covers to conceal screw holes and cut surfaces, enhancing aesthetics. For example, anodized aluminum alloy edge strips, which match the color of exterior wall panels, are often used for columns in modular landscape houses.

II. Materials and Processes of Edge Trims

  1. Material Selection

    • Metals: Aluminum alloy (lightweight and corrosion-resistant) and galvanized steel (high strength and low cost) are commonly used for structural edge trims. For example, the ends of container bottom crossbeams need to be sealed with galvanized steel plates to prevent internal steel corrosion.
    • Plastics: PVC and ABS plastics are used for non-load-bearing edge trims, such as door and window pressure bars. Their advantages include easy processing and diverse colors, but materials with flame-retardant ratings meeting standards (e.g., V-0) must be selected.
  2. Process Requirements

    • Edge trims must match the thickness of container panels. For example, standard container side panels are 1.6-2.0mm thick, and the slot depth of edge trims should be slightly greater than the panel thickness to ensure secure fixation.
    • Edge trims for foldable container houses need to be flexible. For example, silicone sealing strips can withstand temperature changes from -40°C to 80°C without cracking.

III. Installation Points for Edge Trims

  1. Installation Sequence: Install structural edge trims (e.g., corner pieces and bottom crossbeam seals) first, followed by sealing strips and pressure bars, and finally decorative covers.
  2. Detail Handling: Corners should be mitered at 45 degrees to avoid water accumulation in right-angle gaps; screw fixation spacing should not exceed 200mm to prevent panel deformation.
  3. Acceptance Criteria: Edge trims should be free of scratches and deformation, and the compression of sealing strips should reach 30%-50% to ensure waterproof performance.
