Container House Dimensions

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

Common dimensions of container houses are as follows:

I. Standard Dimensions

  1. 3m × 3m
    • With an area of 9 square meters, this is a small container house, often used for construction site guardrooms, temporary warehouses, or single-person living spaces. Due to its small size, material utilization is limited, and it is usually customized only when clients have special requirements.
  2. 6m × 3m
    • Covering an area of 18 square meters, this is the most common standard size on the market, widely used in construction site dormitories, office spaces, medical and epidemic prevention facilities, etc. With a length-to-width ratio close to 2:1, it offers high structural stability and can accommodate approximately 10 people or be converted into functional spaces such as kitchens and toilets.
  3. 7m × 3m
    • With an area of 21 square meters, this size is often used for two-story container activity rooms. By adding corridors and canopies, space utilization is enhanced, and the interior layout is consistent with the 6m × 3m model, making it suitable for multi-person dormitories or composite functional spaces.

II. International Standard Dimensions

  1. Domestic General Standard
    • With a length of 6 meters, width of 3 meters, and height of 2.9 meters, this differs slightly in height from the 6m × 3m model mentioned above but has the same length and width, making it suitable for most domestic scenarios.
  2. Export General Standard
    • With a length of 6 meters, width of 2.4 meters, and height of 2.9 meters, the width is reduced by 0.6 meters compared to the domestic standard to comply with international transportation regulations, commonly seen in cross-border container construction projects.

III. Customized Non-Standard Dimensions

  1. Length Customization
    • Can be adjusted according to needs, such as 3m × 8m, 3m × 12m, etc., achieving larger spaces by combining multiple standard containers, suitable for exhibition halls, temporary shops, etc.
  2. Width and Height Customization
    • Width options include 2.5 meters, 2.55 meters, 4 meters, etc., and height options include 2.6 meters, 2.7 meters, 2.8 meters, etc., to accommodate special purposes (e.g., high-cube exhibition halls requiring a height of over 2.8 meters).
  3. Special Requirements Customization
    • Includes adjustments to door and window positions, interior partition design, and personalized customization of appearance and decoration style, requiring production by professional manufacturers according to the plan.

IV. Design Principles and Stability The length-to-width ratio of container houses directly affects structural stability. For example, a container body made of high-strength weather-resistant steel (such as Q355B grade), when the length-to-width ratio is close to 2:1, can form a self-balancing system through rigid connections between corner fittings and side beams, eliminating the need for additional reinforcement members and reducing material usage by approximately 15%.
