Container House Corner Post
Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026
The corner post of a container house is the column that connects the top corner fittings and the bottom corner fittings, serving as a major load-bearing component of the container. Here is a detailed introduction:

Material and Thickness
- Material: Common materials include weathering steel and hot-dip galvanized steel sheets. Weathering steel has excellent resistance to atmospheric corrosion, forming a stable protective rust layer in natural environments, which reduces further corrosion of the steel. Hot-dip galvanized steel sheets are coated with a layer of zinc on the steel surface, providing rust prevention and protection, and extending the service life of the post.
- Thickness: The thickness of corner posts for container houses varies among different suppliers and uses. For ordinary suppliers, the corner posts of the container body may only use 4mm thick square steel. However, when stacked in two layers, the bottom posts may deform due to excessive local pressure. Transformed suppliers, on the other hand, use 6mm thick square steel as posts to enhance their compressive strength.
Structure and Shape
- Structure: Generally composed of a post and upper and lower connectors. The upper and lower connectors usually include square connecting plates, with a bolt plate connected at one corner of the plate. This structure facilitates connection and fixation with other components.
- Shape: Some corner posts have complex bending shapes. For example, the front corner post has a steel plate thickness of 6.0. The edges in contact with the ground are all 70. When bent upward at 90 degrees, the left side is 50 wide and the right side is 40 wide. When bent upward another 90 degrees, the width is 175 on the left and 159 on the right, with a radius of R9 at each bend.
Function and Role
- Load-bearing: As a major load-bearing component of the container, the corner post bears the weight of the container house itself and the items inside, as well as the external forces generated during stacking, loading, and unloading.
- Connection and Fixation: Through corner fittings and connectors, the corner post connects all parts of the container into a whole, ensuring the structural stability and safety of the house. At the same time, it can also be connected to vehicles, quay cranes, and other equipment, facilitating the transportation and loading/unloading of containers.
- Protection and Hidden Connection Points: Some new corner post designs hide the connection points for container stacking and fixation inside the container body, preventing corrosion damage and human-induced damage to the connection nodes, and improving the feasibility of later disassembly and reassembly of the container body.
