Can Container Houses Hang Curtains
Container houses can generally hang curtains, but a comprehensive assessment based on the house structure, installation method, and usage requirements is necessary.

From a structural feasibility perspective, the walls of container houses are mostly made of metal, with a flat surface and certain load-bearing capacity. If using non-marking installation methods, such as adhesive hooks, telescopic rods, or detachable hooks, curtain tracks or rods can be directly fixed on the wall or window frame without damaging the original structure of the container. If drilling is required for installation, it is necessary to confirm the wall thickness (the standard wall thickness of a container is about 2-3 millimeters) and material strength in advance to avoid metal deformation or impact on waterproof performance due to drilling.
From the perspective of functional requirements, the installation of curtains should match the purpose of the container house. For example, residential container houses can use curtains for privacy protection, light blocking, or heat insulation; in office settings, curtains may be used for space division or decoration. If the house is used for temporary exhibitions or events, the ease of disassembly of the curtains should be considered to avoid leaving adhesive marks or holes that affect subsequent use.
The following points should be noted during installation:
- Material selection: Prioritize lightweight curtains (such as polyester fiber or cotton-linen materials) to avoid excessive weight causing metal rods to deform or fall off. If light blocking is required, thickened coated fabrics can be chosen, but ensure that the fixing method is secure.
- Fixing methods:
- Non-marking solutions: Suitable for short-term use or rental scenarios, such as telescopic rods (fixed using the spacing between the window frame or wall), magnetic hooks (requires a flat metal surface), or 3M non-marking tape (requires load-bearing testing).
- Drilling solutions: For long-term use, consider embedding screws or installing tracks at the top of the wall, but ensure proper waterproofing (such as sealing holes with waterproof glue) to prevent rainwater from seeping into the container's sandwich layer.
- Safety regulations: If the container house is located on a high floor or outdoors, ensure that the curtains are firmly fixed to prevent them from falling off due to wind or human collision. At the same time, avoid using open flames or high-temperature equipment near the curtains to prevent the risk of fabric combustion.
Supplementary information for special scenarios: If the container house has been modified (such as adding partitions or windows), the installation plan should be adjusted according to the actual structure. For example, when installing curtains at non-standard window openings, custom tracks or flexible rods should be used to adapt to irregular shapes.
