Container House Calculation Sheet
The container house calculation sheet should cover dimensions and specifications, surface area and volume calculations, structural classifications, key points of technical regulations, and price calculation methods, as detailed below:

I. Dimensions and Specifications & Volume Calculations
Container house dimensions are based on standard 20-foot and 40-foot containers, with external dimensions of 6058×2438×2591mm (20GP) and 12192×2438×2591mm (40GP), respectively. The internal usable dimensions must account for wall thickness (typically around 50-100mm). For example, the internal net dimensions of a 20GP are 5867×2330×2350mm, with a volume of approximately 30m³; for a 40GP, the internal net dimensions are 11998×2330×2350mm, with a volume of approximately 65m³. Customized non-standard dimensions are flexible, such as 3m×3m×2.8m (area 9㎡) and 6m×3m×2.8m (area 18㎡), and should be adjusted according to the intended use.
II. Surface Area and Material Quantity Calculations
Taking a container with dimensions of 9m×3.2m×2.5m as an example, the surface area calculation formula is:
Surface Area = 2 × (Length × Width + Length × Height + Width × Height)
Substituting the data yields: 2 × (9×3.2 + 9×2.5 + 3.2×2.5) = 118.6㎡, meaning that at least 118.6㎡ of steel plate is required to manufacture this container (ignoring wall thickness).
III. Structural Classifications and Construction Requirements
- By Structural Source: Divided into custom fixed-type (factory-produced, with non-standard corner fittings possible) and variable-type (wall panels that can be flipped/extended, such as display boxes).
- By Forming Process: Includes integral welded-type (dry box type), light steel keel type, plug-in type, etc.
- Core Technical Regulations:
- Applicable for up to 6 floors, with a height of ≤24m, and seismic fortification of ≤8 degrees;
- Steel must comply with GB/T 4171 (welded weathering steel) or Q235B/Q345B standards;
- Fire protection requirements: For crowded places, the enclosure filling must use Class A rock wool/glass wool, with a fire resistance limit of ≥0.5h.
IV. Price Calculation Methods
- Pricing by Unit: The price of standard container houses varies by size and material. For example, a house measuring 3m×3m×2.8m costs approximately 7,500 yuan per unit, while a house measuring 6m×3m×2.8m costs approximately 11,000 yuan per unit.
- Pricing by Area: Applicable only to large-scale projects (such as container villas), with a unit price typically not exceeding 1,000 yuan/㎡ (excluding high-end materials).
- Additional Fees: Freight and installation fees must be calculated separately, with second-hand containers being cheaper (approximately 5,000-10,000 yuan per unit).
