Waterproofing of Container House Bottom
Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026
Waterproofing of the bottom of container houses can be achieved through measures such as selecting high-quality materials, optimizing structural design, standardizing construction operations, and performing good post-maintenance. Details are as follows:

Selecting High-Quality Waterproof Materials
- Water-based High-Chlorinated Coatings: With water-based high-chlorinated polyethylene resin as the main film-forming component, the paint film is dense and water-blocking, resistant to acids, alkalis, salt spray, and industrial corrosive gases. It dries quickly, has good flexibility, can effectively delay the rusting and aging of the base material, and has good environmental performance. It is suitable for anti-corrosion parts such as the bottom of container houses to resist long-term erosion from rainwater, salt and alkali fog, etc.
- Chlorinated Rubber Primer and Topcoat: It has good weather resistance, with a smooth paint film, strong adhesion, impact resistance, good waterproof and anti-corrosion properties, stain resistance, and strong alkali resistance. It also has strong ion resistance and is suitable for environments with severe air pollution and corrosion. It can be used for waterproofing and anti-corrosion of the bottom of container houses.
Optimizing Bottom Structural Design
- Adopting an Integrated Top-Bottom Welding Structure: For example, the packing-box units developed by Nanjing Changyou Zhizao fundamentally solve the technical problem of easy leakage in traditional assembled containers and enhance the sealing and stability of the bottom.
- Setting Up an Elevated Layer: Some enterprises add an elevated layer at the bottom of the container body to block the conduction of ground cold bridges. This not only improves thermal insulation performance but also reduces the erosion of ground moisture on the container body and lowers the risk of bottom leakage.
Standardizing Construction Operations
- Base Surface Treatment: Before construction, clean the floating rust, oil stains, and dust on the base surface. Repair and level loose concrete parts in advance to ensure that the base surface is flat, clean, and solid, providing good conditions for the adhesion of the waterproof coating.
- Waterproof Layer Construction: Waterproof coatings can be applied by rolling, brushing, or spraying. Apply in layers to ensure a complete and leak-free coating. The construction environment temperature should be controlled between 5 - 35℃, and the humidity should not be too high. Leave sufficient drying time between two coats and prevent rainwater from washing during the curing period.
Performing Good Post-Maintenance
- Regular Inspections: Regularly inspect the waterproof coating on the bottom of the container house. If peeling or pulverization occurs, renovate and repair it in a timely manner to ensure that the waterproof performance is always in good condition.
- Avoiding Treading and Collisions: During use, avoid treading and colliding with the bottom of the container house to prevent structural damage to the bottom caused by external forces, which could lead to water leakage problems.
