Bed Placement in Container Houses

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

When placing beds in container houses, it is necessary to comprehensively consider factors such as space, size, functionality, and compliance.

Space Layout

Container houses have limited space, so it is essential to plan the placement of beds reasonably. For example, the container houses used in the Nagoya Asian Games were designed with two bedrooms and a living room per unit, providing accommodation for three people. The beds in the rooms were single beds, measuring 195 centimeters in length and 90 centimeters in width. In double-bed rooms, there was only a walkway between the two beds wide enough for one person to stand, indicating relatively cramped space. Therefore, when placing beds in container houses, ensure there is sufficient space for passage and movement between the beds and surrounding furniture and facilities to avoid overcrowding. If space permits, bunk beds can be used to increase sleeping capacity, but attention should be paid to the safety and stability of the bunk beds, as well as protective measures for the upper bunk to prevent falls.

Size Selection

The size of the bed should match the internal dimensions of the container house. Generally, choose an appropriate bed type based on the length, width, and height of the container house. For instance, at the Nagoya Asian Games, extendable mattresses were provided for taller athletes to meet their physical needs. For ordinary container houses, if there is sufficient ceiling height, beds with a certain height can be selected to increase storage space underneath. If space is limited, low-profile bed types can be chosen to save space.

Functional Requirements

Determine the functionality of the bed based on usage needs. If the container house serves as a long-term residence, in addition to providing a sleeping function, consider adding storage functionality, such as drawers or storage space under the bed, for convenient storage of clothing, bedding, and other items. If it is used as a temporary resting place, such as a scenic area B&B or construction site dormitory, focus on the comfort and convenience of the bed, choosing bed types that are easy to clean and move.

Compliance and Safety

Placing beds in container houses must comply with relevant safety regulations. Do not compromise the structural safety and fire safety of the container house by placing beds, such as blocking evacuation routes or obstructing fire protection facilities. At the same time, ensure that the materials of the beds meet environmental protection requirements and do not pose a hazard to human health.
