Container House Architectural Model

Admin 16 de septiembre de 2026

The container house architectural model is a building form that takes containers as the basic units and is formed through modular design, factory prefabrication, and rapid on-site assembly. It features standardization, high efficiency, and flexibility.

I. Design Principles

The container house architectural model is based on the concept of modular design, dividing the entire building into independent housing modules. Each module has complete functional units, such as bedrooms, kitchens, and bathrooms. The modules adopt standardized sizes, such as 20-foot or 40-foot containers, facilitating transportation and stacking. During the design process, it is necessary to consider the connection methods between modules, structural stability, and spatial layout to ensure that the assembled building meets usage requirements and safety standards.

II. Construction Process

  1. Factory Prefabrication: In the factory, the main structure, water and electricity pipelines, interior decoration, and even the installation of furniture and bathroom fixtures of the modules are completed, achieving a "ready-to-move-in" standard. For example, the packing-box units of Suzhou Zhongnan Steel Structure Co., Ltd. have completed interior decoration and facility pre-installation before leaving the factory, and can be put into use immediately after on-site hoisting.
  2. Transportation and Assembly: The prefabricated modules are transported to the project site by sea or land transportation and then rapidly assembled using hoisting equipment. The assembly process is similar to building with blocks, with multiple processes being able to be carried out simultaneously, significantly shortening the construction period.
  3. On-site Commissioning: After assembly is completed, on-site commissioning work such as water and electricity connection and structural reinforcement is carried out to ensure that the building meets usage requirements.

III. Advantages and Characteristics

  1. Efficient Construction: The combination of factory prefabrication and on-site assembly reduces on-site work volume and improves construction efficiency. For example, the modular houses provided by China Construction Integrated Building Intelligent Manufacturing (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. for an Australian project had an on-site installation period more than half shorter than that of traditional methods.
  2. Flexible Adaptation: The modules can be flexibly combined and adjusted according to needs to meet the usage requirements of different scenarios. For example, in high-frequency scenarios such as engineering camps, government and enterprise temporary buildings, and commercial pop-up stores, rapid construction can be achieved by adjusting the number and layout of modules.
  3. Quality Control: The factory prefabrication environment is superior to on-site construction, allowing strict control over material quality, construction techniques, and construction accuracy. For example, China's first steel structure modular intelligent production line maintains a stable manufacturing accuracy of 1 to 2 millimeters.
  4. Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency: Modular construction reduces on-site wet work, lowering construction waste, dust, and noise pollution. At the same time, the modules can be repeatedly disassembled and relocated to different places, enabling resource recycling.
