Container House Architectural Drawings

Currently, we cannot directly provide architectural drawings of container houses, but we can introduce the design features of some typical container houses for reference.

Appearance and Structure

Container houses are usually transformed from recycled containers. In terms of appearance, some retain the original metallic texture of the containers. For example, the Quartz Cottage in Cornwall, UK, features a bold blue exterior with exposed corrugated steel. Others change their original appearance through external decorations, such as the container hotel in the Czech Republic, which uses exposed container walls and spruce wood for external decoration. In terms of structure, container houses can be combined according to needs, with both single-story and multi-story options. For instance, the container hotel in the Czech Republic is a two-story residence composed of two 20-foot and one 40-foot containers. The container house in a Jiangsu town is reasonably planned in terms of internal space according to the needs of a family of four.

Door and Window Design

Glass doors and windows are relatively common in container houses. They allow sufficient indoor light and enhance the permeability between indoor and outdoor spaces. The glass doors and windows of the Quartz Cottage connect the main living space with the beautiful outdoor garden. The glass walls of the container hotel make the rooms feel more spacious. The container house in New Jersey combines with the outdoors through huge glass sliding doors and an indoor house-like structure.

Internal Layout

The internal layouts of container houses for different purposes vary greatly. For residential purposes, the Quartz Cottage has two rooms, an open living area (with a dining area and kitchen), a bed in the corner, and a private bathroom. The container house in the Jiangsu town has a reasonably planned internal space and is equipped with air conditioning to meet the living needs of a family of four. For commercial purposes, the sales center of Wuhan Dongyuan Lejian City, as a container sales office, focuses on display effects and functionality.

Decoration Style

Container houses have diverse decoration styles. Some pursue a natural and ecological look. For example, the container mansion of a Danish guy has decorations on various parts of the house, and the inner walls and ceilings show the unique corrugated metal of the containers. Others lean towards a fresh and simple style. The green cottage of a solo-living guy has uniformly light-wood-colored furniture, white home decor, and a separated wet and dry area in the bathroom.
