Anticorrosive Paint for Container Houses
Common anticorrosive paints for container houses mainly include epoxy zinc-rich primer, epoxy mica iron intermediate paint, polyurethane topcoat, acrylic paint, etc. Different paint types have different functions and applicable scenarios, and there are also other special-purpose paints.

Epoxy zinc-rich primer is made with epoxy resin as the base material and a large amount of zinc powder added. It has excellent cathodic protection, strong adhesion, and good rust prevention and weather resistance. In the anticorrosive system of containers, it is suitable for bottom-layer anticorrosion, serving as the primer stage in a long-lasting anticorrosive system, providing basic protection for containers and preventing metal rusting.
Epoxy mica iron intermediate paint is made from epoxy resin, mica iron oxide, etc. Its main function is to increase the coating thickness and enhance the shielding performance of the entire coating system, like putting a thicker 'protective suit' on the container. At the same time, it can strengthen the bonding force between the primer and the topcoat, making the entire anticorrosive coating more robust. Moreover, it has good water resistance and is generally used as a transition layer above the primer.
Polyurethane topcoat uses polyurethane resin as the main film-forming substance. It features excellent weather resistance, abrasion resistance, and decorative properties, with rich colors, high gloss, and good chemical resistance. It is mostly used on the outer surface of containers, providing both protection and aesthetic appeal. Container polyurethane anticorrosive paints come in various colors, including gray, red, white, etc., with solvent types such as oil-based and water-based paints. The shelf life ranges from 3 months to 48 months, and packaging specifications include 20kg and 25kg, among others.
Acrylic paint is based on acrylic resin. It has good weather resistance and UV resistance, dries quickly, is easy to apply, and has a relatively low cost. It is suitable for containers with not particularly high anticorrosion requirements or as a temporary protective coating.
In addition, container paints cover five major categories: workshop pre-coating primers, interior paints, exterior intermediate layers, topcoats, and bottom anticorrosive paints. Among them, workshop pre-coating primers are divided into zinc-rich primers and acrylic workshop primers; exterior topcoats often use modified chlorinated rubber paint or high-build modified vinyl resin paint; interior paints are non-toxic epoxy paints; and the bottom mainly uses asphalt anticorrosive paint. There is also organosilicon waterproof and anticorrosive paint available for the integrated waterproofing and anticorrosion of container mobile houses.
