Installation of Mobile Ecological Toilets at Construction Sites

Admin 08 de octubre de 2026

The installation of mobile ecological toilets at construction sites should follow these core steps and key points:

1. Site Selection and Evaluation Prioritize areas with high usage frequency, such as near the entrances of living or work zones, while avoiding areas with open flames, material storage, or electrical distribution facilities. The installation site should be flat and slightly elevated above the surrounding ground to prevent rainwater from flooding in; if near rivers or water sources, ensure sufficient buffer distance from water protection zones.

2. Foundation Preparation

  • Soil Ground: Compact the soil and lay a 10-15 cm thick gravel bed.
  • Soft Soil or Backfilled Areas: Pour a concrete base or set up prefabricated cement piers to ensure stability.
  • Hardened Ground: Check for flatness and reserve locations for septic tanks or drainage outlets.

3. Transportation and Placement

  • Use professional vehicles to secure the toilet unit during transportation and lifting straps to avoid scratching the exterior during hoisting.
  • Use a level gauge to check the horizontal alignment of the unit when placing it, with the door facing away from the prevailing wind direction and avoiding major traffic lanes.

4. Pipe Connection

  • Flush Toilets: Connect water supply pipes (recommended PPR or PE materials, buried below the frost line or with insulation measures) and drainage pipes (with a slope of no less than 2%), ensuring tight seals at joints and regularly checking for leaks.
  • Non-Flush Toilets: Ensure the fecal collection container is well-sealed to prevent odor diffusion.

5. Ventilation and Lighting

  • Install exhaust fans or ventilation ducts if natural ventilation is insufficient, with exhaust outlets facing areas with fewer people.
  • Connect temporary lighting circuits if no built-in lighting is available, using waterproof and explosion-proof fixtures.

6. Lightning Protection and Grounding In areas prone to thunderstorms or open construction sites, metal-structured toilets should be equipped with independent lightning rods, with metal frames having a grounding resistance of no more than 10 ohms.

7. Signage and Safety

  • Hang signs after installation (e.g., gender separation, usage instructions).
  • Set up warning posts or reflective stickers near vehicle traffic areas, and install warning lights at night.

8. Pre-Installation Preparation

  • Survey the site in advance to ensure the ground is flat and firm, away from main construction roads and pollution sources (recommended distance of at least 1.5 meters from the edge of excavation pits).
  • Check the toilet unit and accessories (e.g., door locks, flush valves, drainage pipes) for completeness upon receipt.

9. On-Site Installation Steps

  • Use a forklift or crane to hoist the unit steadily to the designated location, connecting the drainage pipe to the construction site's drainage system or temporary collection pit (with tight seals to prevent leaks).
  • Test the flush function after connecting the water supply, check the drainage pipe for smooth flow, and inspect the internal fixtures for firmness and the unit for airtightness after installation.

10. Usage and Maintenance

  • Assign dedicated personnel for daily cleaning, replenish consumables, and disinfect regularly.
  • Inspect the electrical circuits, valves, and flush system monthly, and report and repair any faults promptly.

If using a turnkey installation mode without civil engineering, the unit can be fixed by assembling columns, with tight-fitting buckles for installation. Some ecological toilets are equipped with insulated and fire-resistant metal carved panel exteriors, bamboo-fiber panel interiors, anti-slip tiles on the floor, and integrated exhaust fans, tissue dispensers, and other facilities.
