Construction Site Container House Roof

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

The structure, construction key points, and determination of illegal construction for the roof of a construction site container house are as follows:

Roof Structure and Materials

The structure of the roof of a construction site container house is usually based on a modular design concept. Its main frame is mostly welded with hot-dip galvanized square steel. Commonly used specifications include galvanized square tubes with dimensions such as 100×100mm and 80×80mm, providing stable support for the roof. There are various choices of roof materials, commonly including steel, aluminum alloy, and waterproof fabric. Steel and aluminum alloy have high strength and good durability, but their costs are relatively high. Waterproof fabric has a low cost and is easy to install, but it may need to be replaced regularly. Some container house roofs also use insulation materials such as aluminized zinc color-coated steel plates combined with rock wool, glass wool, or polyurethane to enhance the roof's insulation performance.

Roof Construction Key Points

  • Precise Planning: Before construction, accurately measure the size, spacing, and positional relationship of the containers. Calculate the required support structures and materials according to the load-bearing capacity of the containers and the estimated weight of the roof to ensure a perfect fit between the roof design and the containers.
  • Support Structure Construction: Use steel frames or aluminum alloy brackets as the main support structures. Bend the brackets according to the roof's curvature to ensure a flat and stable roof. You can add crossbeams or steel plates on top of the containers to enhance the roof's load-bearing capacity.
  • Roof Panel Installation: Fix the panels on the frame using appropriate methods according to the characteristics of the selected materials. Ensure that the panel gaps are even and well-sealed to prevent rainwater leakage, while also paying attention to the flatness and aesthetics of the panels.
  • Waterproofing and Aesthetic Treatment: After installing the panels, apply waterproof coating all over the roof to enhance its waterproofing ability. You can also install decorations or green plants to improve the aesthetics and comfort.

Factors for Determining Illegal Construction

Whether a container house is considered illegal construction is usually determined by local policies. If it is regarded as a temporary building, in some places, no building permit is required, and it can be freely erected and dismantled. However, in other places, it may be identified as an illegal building. Generally speaking, placing a container house on the roof of a self-built house or in a field, if it is mainly used for temporarily storing agricultural materials and tools, it can be regarded as a guard house for farmland and orchards. If it does not damage the plow layer, is not connected to water and electricity, does not involve traditional infrastructure construction, and does not occupy land quotas, it is usually not considered illegal construction. However, if the ground is hardened, permanent foundations are built, or it is used for business or residence, changing the land use, it may be identified as illegal construction.
