Renovation of Container Houses at Construction Sites

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

The renovation of container houses at construction sites requires comprehensive consideration of key elements such as structural safety, functional zoning, thermal performance, and water and electricity layout. The specific renovation points are as follows:

I. Structural Safety and Foundation Treatment

  1. Selection of Structural Types

    • Welded Integral Box: Factory-welded as a whole, with a direct load path (roof load → side wall columns → bottom beams → ground), strong resistance to deformation, and suitable for construction site scenarios requiring frequent lifting and movement.
    • Bolt-Connected Modular Box: Composed of standard panels connected by bolts. It is necessary to focus on checking the steel wall thickness of the columns and bottom beams (common specifications: 1.5 - 3 mm). The thicker the wall thickness, the greater the load-bearing redundancy, but the self-weight also increases accordingly.
    • Coating Process: Priority should be given to hot-dip galvanizing treatment, which has a longer anti-corrosion lifespan than cold-dip galvanizing. Especially in areas with large diurnal temperature differences and significant humidity changes, it can effectively delay the corrosion of the container body.
  2. Ground Treatment

    • The contact area between the container's bottom beams (I-beams or channel steels) and the ground is limited. It is necessary to remove the loose soil and debris on the ground and compact the original soil layer to avoid uneven settlement of the container body due to local pressure, which may cause deformation of doors and windows or cracks in the walls.

II. Functional Zoning and Space Utilization

  1. Zoning Logic

    • Fixed-size containers (commonly 3 meters × 6 meters) need to adopt a functional overlay strategy:
      • Wet Area: Compress the kitchen and bathroom to one end of the container and use integrated bathroom technology to achieve waterproof integration.
      • Dry Area: The living and sleeping areas achieve day-night functional switching through the variability of furniture, such as wall-mounted folding tables and drop-down beds, to release activity space.
    • Storage System: It is necessary to systematically plan the storage of items; otherwise, the actual usable area may shrink by more than 20%.
  2. Style Customization

    • The appearance and internal layout can be customized according to needs, supporting various styles such as minimalist, modern, and retro to adapt to different living or office scenarios.

III. Thermal Performance Optimization

  1. Insulation Structure

    • Adopt a three-layer structure: the outer layer is a 0.6 mm thick galvanized sheet to resist wind and sand erosion, the middle layer is filled with 80 - 100 mm thick rock wool as the main insulation layer, and the inner layer uses PVC-coated steel sheets to reduce thermal radiation.
    • An elevated layer is added at the bottom of the container body to block the conduction of ground cold bridges, reducing the indoor temperature fluctuation by about 40% compared with traditional color steel plate houses.
  2. Air Tightness Treatment

    • Focus on treating the sealing strips of doors and windows and the joints to avoid local condensation.

IV. Water and Electricity Layout and Ventilation Design

  1. Water and Electricity Wiring

    • Plan the water and electricity wiring diagram through 3D modeling to ensure one-time construction and avoid rework later.
  2. Ventilation System

    • Design a ventilation system to avoid dampness and mildew and ensure a healthy living environment.
  3. Rainwater Collection (Optional)

    • A rainwater collection system for the shower room can be added to achieve water resource recycling.
