Construction of Container Houses

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

The construction of container houses requires comprehensive consideration of structural stability, installation efficiency, weather resistance, and compliance. The core steps include selection, ground treatment, lifting and positioning, and joint treatment.

Structural stability is the foundation of container house construction. It is advisable to prioritize products with fully steel structural frames, which exhibit significantly better deformation resistance compared to bolt-connected modular containers. For example, products from Suzhou Zhongnan Steel Structure Co., Ltd. feature fully steel structures, with frame deformation of only 2mm under 12-level strong winds, well below the national standard limit of 10mm. It is recommended to choose steel with a wall thickness of 1.5-3mm; the thicker the wall, the greater the load-bearing redundancy. Additionally, it is essential to inspect the coating process; hot-dip galvanizing offers a longer corrosion-resistant lifespan than cold-dip galvanizing, particularly in regions with significant temperature variations between day and night and humidity changes.

Ground treatment directly affects the lifespan of the house. It is necessary to remove surface soil and compact the original soil layer. For long-term fixed use, a 30-50cm wide concrete strip foundation should be poured, with the depth determined by the thickness of the frozen soil layer. The top surface of the foundation should have a levelness error of no more than 2mm per meter. For short-term use, prefabricated concrete pads can be used, spaced no more than 2m apart, with a crushed stone leveling layer laid beneath them.

The lifting and positioning stage requires precise control of contact conditions. Use steel wire ropes with sufficient load-bearing capacity to lift all lifting points simultaneously, avoiding unilateral stress that could cause box distortion. After positioning, check the fit between the bottom beam and the foundation pads; any local gaps should be filled with thin steel sheets, with a levelness error controlled within 2mm per meter.

Joint treatment determines the overall performance of the house. Special sealing strips should be used to treat the joints between boxes, with particular attention paid to checking the airtightness of the sealing strips around doors and windows to prevent local condensation. For multi-story stacked applications, C-shaped steel purlins should be installed between the bottom beams to distribute the load, ensuring structural stability even when stacked up to three stories high.
